So true. It never truly goes away, but it gets softer and you feel like you carry them with you after a time.
Very nice. I’m assuming there’s a cover of Al Stewart’s most famous song on there? Plus a touch of Squeeze, Harry Chapin and Elton?
Well done Korea's. Very happy to see those two sitting down and talking., Makes some other world leaders look even worse this morning.
My mate just rang me in tears, his wife has left him and taken his Bob Marley collection and satellite dish with her. Poor bastard, no woman no sky.
Just a few weeks ago, North Korea were test launching and having a PR battle with the child-like leader of the US and calling names. Forgive me if I don’t celebrate this latest peace move just yet.
And is this connected with the report that the site used for their nuclear testing is now apparently unsafe and a mountain has collapsed onto their test facility. I prefer to wait and see when a dangerous megalomaniac suddenly talks peace....remember this is a man who makes Trump look a model president.
Little Alfie Evans has died....am very sorry for his parents, but they can now move on....not from grief but to the next phase of it after being in limbo for so long. Have avoided commenting before because I have never been in their shoes, but sometimes just being alive isn't enough. I hope they now get the time and space they need.
Nicely put Fran, says it all really. Let’s hope everyone, including the staff at Alder Hey, can get on with their lives and the brilliant work they do.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-43934504 Has to be up for idiot of the year award. Put his car on auto whilst sat in the passenger seat....how exactly did he think he would be able to get into the driver's seat if anything went wrong.
I know that over the last couple,of months others have done some strenuous activity to raise funds for health/children's charities.. it's my turn now but raising money for my local Cats Protection (I'm a volunteer and the branch treasurer, amongst other roles). I'm not doing anything strenuous either but I am doing something that genuinely scares me - being pushed head-first from a height I'm doing a zipwire challenge at the beginning of June: https://www.zipworld.co.uk/ If you could sponsor me, I'd be very, very grateful and would mean that I really can't back out of it... https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/helen-rees13
Reminds me of a story I heard awhile ago about a guy in America who put his motorhome into cruise control and went into the back to make himself a cup of coffee. Shockingly the vehicle crashed, he sued the company and won as he thought cruise control meant it drove itself.
I also remember that....this is what u found. The woman who won $1.7 million from Winnebago after putting her RV on cruise control at 70 mph, and then getting up to go make herself a sandwich in the back. She claimed that Winnebago should have warned her that she couldn’t leave the driver’s seat after putting the cruise control on.
I'm often amazed by how lacking in common sense the American law system is. There was another case where someone got damages for injuring themselves after climbing onto a cooker....they won because they were not warned not to.
