McLaren has extended its sponsorship deal with Santander, meaning it's logo will appear on both the McLaren and the Ferrari.

We know that Santander initially sponsored McLaren because of Alonso's arrival to the team, but now it has decided to extend that deal because of the British interest caused by Jenson Button at McLaren. Santander had this to say:

"We are delighted to sign an extension to our deal with the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team and drivers. It's exciting to be able to continue working with Jenson; he has been a very popular figure with both staff and consumers. The relationship that we have built, initially with the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team, and now Jenson, has been integral to creating and building the Santander brand in the UK. Without it, we would have not been able to rebrand to Santander in 2010. The partnership has helped us launch the Santander brand in the UK – and will contribute greatly in helping us meet our goal of being the UK's best commercial bank.”

My thoughts are that you omitted the word 'Lewis'. :headbang:

    here is an actual quote:

Ana Botin, Santander UK CEO, said:

"We are delighted to sign an extension to our deal with Vodafone McLaren Mercedes. It is exciting to be able to continue working with Lewis and Jenson. The relationship we have built with the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team and its drivers has been integral to creating and building the Santander brand in the UK. Without it, we would have not been able to rebrand to Santander last year."

    And from pitpass.com:

"Santander cites its associaiton with 2008 World Champion Lewis Hamilton in its advertising campaigns as one of the driving forces behind the huge growth in brand recognition"

I've reported him. I suggest everyone does the same - click the exclamation on the left at the end of his article.

    Jose Lorca

Normal service has been resumed with you then.

You put a lot of effort into ruining BBC606 F1 forum and then you came here with the same intention.

You ran riot and caused chaos when you were trusted with moderation.

I hope that the poor guy that runs this web site cottons on to your motives and gets rid of you permanently.

Mick, Lorca is doing what he does best - posting anti-Hamilton wum articles. This is exactly the reason why he is so unpopular.

He has altered to quote the remove any positivity towards Lewis Hamilton. It's what he does.

Don't delete the board, delete Lorca and keep a very close eye out for multi ID's as he had about 30 on BBC606.

Oh yes let's all gang up on Lorca. I haven't even mentioned Hamilton and this is somehow supposed to insult him....

Don't scrap the board! I actually like it here now, easy to use and easier to talk to the majority cause I actually understand what they're saying. I'm not saying muzz is bad, it's just they're very technical.

Obviously there's a down side, or upside actually: ban Lorca. The fact that he didn't mention Hamilton is what is wrong. He 'mis-types' so that it "remove any positivity towards" him.

I am sure that the people that founded this site had the best intentions but Jose Lorca has the worse intentions.

The BBC spent a fortune on moderation in order to protect themselves from legal actions resulting from posts that they published.

Jose Lorca has posted an article which maliciously distorts the facts.

He has invented a comment and then falsely claimed that it is the official statement from Santander.

Whoever is running this site had better make sure that their house and other wealth is registered in some one elses name. Legal fees are quite high these days.

So the poor guy that runs this site goes bankrupt and Jose gets some sort of cheap laugh.

That is the most stupid ban I've seen in my life. Banned for **** all basically, just because of his haters. Anything he writes is criticised, so he takes the word Hamilton out for safety of not being WUMMY. Why ban him for that? So if person X talks nothing about Alonso can I gt them banned as I think its WUMMY? No so why do it here. F1 isn't called Hamilton unless you are from here http://www.itv-f1.com/home.aspx
