He's so superior, needs a real challenge to show his best. I am already dreaming of Altior vs Footpad next season
Hes always so strong at the finish, very different energy distribution to the likes of Sprinter Sacre, Douvan, Un De Sceaux. Hes an ideal Cheltenham horse but a not a typical 2 mile superstar.
Already showed that over hurdles too, at Kempton and then out-sprinting Min up the hill in the Supreme. I would love to see him in the King George, piling it on from 4 out. Mind you, I'd love to see Top Notch in a King George too but with Might Bite around it feels unlikely, all of them being with Henderson.
Supposedly 4 days of rain expected at Newmarket before Wednesday, hopefully not too bad. Proper soft ground would obviously play to the boat Gustav Klimts strengths but possibly plays to Elarqams stamina as well and the Frankels tend to handle it well on the evidence so far.
Good luck with that, I think youll need it. The very slim chance he had looks like its being washed away in the rain. He wasnt good enough anyway, if Saxon Warrior runs Masar will end up 4th choice on the day at about 8 or 9/1.
Amazed Stormy Ireland has been backed into favouritism here - looked well held when falling at Cheltenham. Mr Adjudicator my fancy.
Because Saxon Warrior is an unbeaten G1 winning Derby favourite for the biggest stable in Europe who have dominated classics for years. And when the real market starts to take shape, the details of Masars last run and his overall profile will be factored into it. The mug money is already on Masar with recency bias and large winning margin, ill be surprised if he isnt friendless on the day.
My horse is already proven at the track on gd to soft and all the good Frankels so far have excelled on soft, but I dont want to see Guineas run in a bog, the winter is over.
Sad news about Ar Mad - he certainly lived up to the second part of his name as a novice, absolutely bonkers but had one fantastic day in the grade 1 limelight at Sandown. RIP
