Another 40 year throwback. So ahead of its time, that 26 years after its release it caused claims of WUMmery by one particular record label in the dance music scene ...
So then, favourite pieces of music with bits of films in them? Nobody says 'My Name Is Michael Caine' by Madness....****ing dreadful.
Last summer I posted that my next door neighbour is in a band with the legendary Clem Cattini. Here he is playing with them on one of the biggest songs he played on in his career. Clem Cattini played on 49 No 1's. My neighbour is the one with his back to the camera. Clem just happened to play on these too They practice in the loft room of next door, so every Sunday morning I get treated to some great stuff. Lovely.
"Just when I thought I was out, they drag me back in." The Damned's winter tour dates are out....Shepherd's Bush Empire, Friday 23 November. Book now to avoid disappointment. This from the first album after the Captain's return and Rat's departure, 'Grave Disorder'. It's a very good album and this is excellent...
Some posters have been asking for more Punk. I'm all for giving people more of what I want, so, here you go yoooooou lucky people....... Cracking collection of clips of the first couple of years of 42 Years of Anarchy, Chaos and Destruction. The Pistols had nothing on these guys.
Now, a love song and a bloody good one at that. No, not that one but....I'm going 'Rabid [Over You]'. The record company refused to release it as a single because of the chorus... "You treat me like a dog Give me a bone to chew Frothing at the mouth Frothing all over you Yeah I get rabid over you I'm kind of rabid over you I'm kind of rabid over you" Imagine that being 'pulled' today?
The second best thing The Rats did and there were less than you could count on the fingers of one hand [not including the thumb]. Pure Springsteen rip off....but none the worse for that...
A magnificent single from 1977.... Reminds me when the Gooners threw a petrol bomb into The Shelf. Scabby bleeders.
