I'm proved right twice over that

a) our injuries prove why 2 players per position are needed. Matip, can, lallana, ox, clyne and gomez only back. weve been unlucky in midfield but lucky up front. now mane has an injury

b) our performances with some squad members sent on or starting has been woeful. absolutely woeful.

If we want to win things we need the squad.

i relinquished that , dubious, honour when we started losing under my guardianship.

 

I actually think its cause the manager doesnt moan like us. Apart from ourselves there is usually a definite bias against the lesser sides in the prem, there certainly appears to have been. or to put it another the managers who moan the most.

Dont get me wrong klopp has had his moments but outside of the match they dont happen a lot.

Either that or maybe we are not one of the top sides

We shouldnt be needing the ref onside to be getting past these teams anyway, but i fine with a point today, bigger fish to fry and we have got injuries so no drama yet. Still in our own hands.

 

If i remember right at the start of the season we were saying a good season would have been top four and possibly a cup?
There were a lot of us who thought top four and cl was going to be tough so surely going into the last day with cl still in our own hands is good.
When we were thinking cup we were probably thinking league cup and hoping for fa with reasonable run in cl.
Whilst i personally think we are going to really struggle on wed we still in running for a cup.
So surely we need to look on bright side

Four points robbed by refereeing decisions in the last two league games, and a questionable pen against us in the CL that may well still prove vital . Doubtless MoTD will hold an inquest, showing the handball from every conceivable angle, with Shearer contradicting everything he said that constitutes a penalty when one was given against us. Nah, on second thoughts, I doubt it.

 

Stoke are in a dire situation and needed 3 points. They came to Anfield and instead of playing to try for those 3 points, they played rugby and parked the bus. Can't say I am sympathetic to see them go down.

 

imo marriner reffed today from a rule book that isn't a football year 2018 book.

it was a disgrace tbh.

not even the allowance of hands all over our forwards but he let crouch off with a straight leg stamp and at least 4 elbows I saw.

he let diouf off with 4 or 5 fouls.

he ignored 2 pens.

he allowed several instances of time wasting

 

imo despite the two games they have tjey are now gone

 

Listening to the commentators today as well, there was an incident when Pieters grabbed Salah by the shirt (not his handball, stonewall pen). I do accept it would have been a hard one to spot, let alone give, but the first commentator says 'No pen, he didn't touch him', even as they played the replay showing him grabbing a handful of shirt. The other commentator, realising that even a blind ****wit could see that says 'Well he does have hold of his shirt, but not long enough for a pen.' !

Is there a set, specified amount of time you are allowed to hold another player's shirt before a foul is given then?

the issue here is both games we have had would in effect relegate the teams so refs basically gave them every leeway.

like last game there was a shocker challenge and ref just told guy to calm down a bit.

 

I can’t have been watching the same game...

The handball was a bit like the Roma one for me, you sometimes get them, you sometimes don’t. My initial reaction was that it was a pen though.

That aside I have no ****ing idea what you lot are on about

Sourness got it bob on after the game, he thought it was a pen, but said that Liverpool can’t blame the referee for not winning that game, they should blame the fact that they had 20 efforts on goal and only 2 on target ( and I can’t even remember Butland making a save)

 

Pieters made them for him.

 

I remember him sliding out to take a wayward through ball with no danger whatsoever and fumbling it out straight to Salah, putting his team in trouble. His embarrassment only being saved by Pieters fouling.
