I think we should judge a players speed on how fast they run, rather than their age. Amd as he still runs fast, its fair enough to call him pacey

 

The point being that his pace is only useful for chasing lost causes and putting pressure on back lines. He certainly cannot run with the ball at pace like Mane or even JRod in his pomp for example.

 

May still only be 3 behind then so we wouldn't be killed off yet!

 

That's the point....we need to be saved or shot. What we will get is the vet standing there sucking his teeth.

Having said that, I would still rather we had some chance going into the Man City game (gulp), but prefer it to be in our own hands. There's only so much suffering even a Saints fan can take.

I've only seen brief highlights of Chelsea's goals in the league games, so I'm happy to be corrected, but I haven't noticed any huge errors from Bednarek over these three games. Maybe he could have made a challenge and cleared the ball for the first goal at Wembley last weekend, when Hazard lost his balance and the ball just seemed to hang there on the edge of the box.

But given how much Stephens has concerned me in recent weeks, if it was a to be a fight between those two for one position (which it might not be), I wouldn't have any problem with Bednarek winning out.

 

I agree 100%. He’s good in the air, which Stephen often struggles with. He’s also the closest thing we possess to that rarest of beasts, the pacey CB. I’d be happy with Bednarek and Yoshida for the last 4 games, although Hughes might go 3 at the back for Everton.

 

Can't see Hughes only playing 2 centre backs again at all (especially now he 4 to choose from!) He played 2 against West Ham and look how that turned out!
