Rumours of a £120m summer war chest plus money from sales to spend in the next window, I wonder where this rumour originated..... what with lots of expensive season tickets to sell, cough cough.

Miguel Delaney from The Independent is the one who started the talk of the £120m war chest last week - although, as I mentioned at the time, he tipped his hand and proved he was just guessing by mentioning perennial transfer targets Wilfried Zaha and Jay ****ing Rodriguez - while the talk of raising £170m through selling players not named Llorente or Janssen comes from the obvious pun that is David Kent our good friends at the Daily Heil (no, I'm not linking that one for obvious reasons)

Haha the £100m+ “war chest” takes me back a few years when the same rumour went round. Not falling for that one again! <laugh>

I just can’t see our stance changing. We may end up with £10-20m net spend MAX, but the figures being spoken of are totally ludicrous.

The only money we’ll spend is the money we receive from sales. And that’s what worries me, we’ve got to sell the ****ers first, in a transfer window that’s certainly a little different on this occasion.

But exactly the type of old hand the squad
    IMHO really needs.

I'd pass personally and much prefer an experience captain figure in there to lift the team and give the youngsters someone to really aspire to. Been crying out for one for years TBF.

Sure this 20 something year old looks a talent but I guarantee he'd lose the ball a great deal more in the PL than MD. He plays with the ball far too much in front of his body. He's quicker than Dembele granted but Moussa's incredible abilities makes the ball appear to be stuck to his feet and he uses his body better when under pressure.

But... he's getting slow in his latter years and I think he's starting to believe all the hype about himself lately, hence the **** performance in the FA cup semi.

That's the main reason why I think it would be worth taking a punt on Johnny Evans this summer, as he could be the Naybet signing who can do a job when called upon while also serving as a player coach for the likes of Foyth and CCV.

Of course we should realistically be thinking of using Verts in this role by now, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

Said it already but Evans at £3m is the bargain of the summer, we should be all over that if Toby goes.

    He's a £20m calibre CB.

Another random rumour: Janssen to Leicester.

Does that mean we should boo him every time he touches the ball because he failed to score any goals for us due to the manager not playing him?

Their fans always boo Harry Kane for not showing the goalscoring form he does for us when he was on loan there a few seasons back.

Somehow they haven't worked out that, if Nigel Pearson selected David Nugent and Chris Wood to start up front in every match, and when Harry started it was usual on the wing rather than up front, there's a pretty obvious reason why he wasn't banging them in...

We should try to get Mahrez and Vardy at 31 might settle for a role off the bench whilst providing serious competition to Kane. Finding a number 2 to Kane is a very difficult thing to do. Who will want to sit on the bench and be a player at his peak? Not many unless we offer massive wages for the privilege and we don't do that.

I see many fans on Twitter who cannot stand the thought of Rondón, but he’s potentially one of the few out there who could tick all the boxes.

    He’s still only 28.
He’s been known to impact from the bench in the past.
He’s been part of a relegated team and has still proven he can score goals.
Price should be minimal due to West brom’s relegation.
Has the strength, size, and mobility to play in the role we need.
    Has Premier league experience.

I honestly don’t know who else the fans think we’re going to get that we can afford in terms of wages, and will play second fiddle to Harry Kane.

Spurlock and Spur of the Moment like this.
  20. I’m a fan of his and would certainly be happy to see him at Spurs. Has all those attributes above and also appears to have a good attitude. He kept fighting for WBA even when those around him went AWOL.

The reserve forward ‘curse’ does worry me though. The list of failure is growing <yikes> and on paper, Nando was a better option than Rondon.
