Evening Eric. Yes, De Bock needs to be given a bit of time to settle in. Great to see what Pearce can do tho. Btw Pearce's contract is up in the Summer. It needs extending NOW.
Quite telling that PH said great to have him back and have his voice on the training ground not them and theirs. For me, ELM and Shaks are right. De Bock looked decent for one game and pants in the rest, Pearce every day of the week for me. Definitely bring in a couple of the young strikers and see how they look at this level, even if only one shines it is a massive bonus and every one of them has to be better than Grot.
If you prefer not to read long comments, don't read this one. De Brock was a player who was playing well at beginning, fans were singing his praises, then he had a bad game, TC didn't pick him unless he had too; TC was at fault. Ayling had a great season last season, played well, made mistakes but played well. This season, like Doc mentioned, he was hot and cold, thought he was Zico trying the fancy footwork, strayed well too far forward leaving us exposed at the back, and Ayling had problems getting back when the opposition got the quick break. When Ayling did get down the wing, a lot of his crosses weren't the best, his attempt at fancy footwork got him in trouble, and big gaps were left at the back, which the opposition jumped on, and it cost us..........At a guess, I'd say TC instructed him to do that, like he instructed the team to play to Lasogga, both contributed to our downfall and backward slide, big time.........Rather than me do it, maybe someone could get the stats that shows how many goals were scored from Aylings side, or due to Ayling, compare it with Berardi on the opposite side during same period. TC didn't have the experience, nor the insight to see that the team wasn't broken, instead, he broke it by trying to be bigger than the team. Heckyarse'ole doesn't have the experience nor the insight to realise what his best team was, or is, and he still doesn't. When he first came to Leeds, he was experimenting for too many games, making our recovery harder and harder, untill impossible. Saiz doesn't think he's bigger than team, that's just an excuse used by Heckyarse'ole deflecting away from the fact he can't control his players. I personally can understand Saiz getting frustrated, and that's all it was, frustration. BPF was wrong to have a go at Saiz, Vieira was wrong to try and grab hold of Saiz, when it was Vieira that let the player get a shot off. I remember a player called Adryan, everyone could see his skills and abilities, he was hounded off the pitch by Redders and his sidekick, eventually he was got rid of, same as Antenucci. Imagine if both had've stayed, how much of a benefit would've they been to team this season, like Saiz, Pablo and Alioski. Imagine Adryan playing alongside Saiz. Are we going to have Saiz hounded out of the team as well. We had / have a good team to win this league, we all saw it at beginning of season, that is untill TC starting fixing what wasn't broke. Problem is, Heckyarse'ole doesn't have the insight to recognise what we had, and why, at beginning of season. It's easy to blame the players, or individual players, but it's the coach who makes the team play worse, or better, that's why he's brought in as the coach. One of our main problems are the fans. When things are going well they're happy, when they're not, frustration and anger rears it's ugly head again, as it has done virtually every season since coming down. Once promotion has slipped away, the fans talk through their frustration and anger, that frustration and anger is then aimed at the team or individual players, then the players become frustrated and angry, it then becomes a vicious circle, year in, year out. To top it off, people on this forum start having a go at each other, year in, year out. As they say, behind every good man is a good woman, meaning, behind every good team is a good coach........A good coach knows when to make changes, and when to leave alone.........we haven't had that since McCallister got sacked by Master Bates..........
Morning Marcos. Grot is only a year or so older then our under 18 players. Send him out on loan. He was thrown into the lions den too quickly.
Jeez Shaks, you posted that before I even clicked the post reply button, what magic amber fluid you on then....
The problem with Grot is that hes an Under 21 International and had started playing regular first team football. When he arrived here was alone in a strange country and only 18 year old. He hasnt cut it at all although he did well at U23 level scoring goals, but he aint as good as the strikers we have in the U23s. If hes serious about making a go of it he should go out on loan, but if not he needs to go back to Holland as he aint even as good as Antonnson
Morning Lover. Blimey....... What is Adryan doing now? Has he set the World alight? Who remembers Montenegro???
