Can't see it all but is that a mock up of a Vietnamese called Hull Chi Minh please log in to view this image
Dark rabbit Warren, wooden pallets everywhere, no fire escape signs. I'm sure the final thing will be much safer
That doesn't make it at risk of a fire starting though. In the current H and S world we live in it wouldn't get approval if there was the slightest risk.
I was in Hull for a couple of days last week, purely business and a one night stroll around the city centre. I have seen some disturbing things in my time, but the sight that awaited me and others were both shocking and deeply concerning. There was a queue for a City Hall event - mixed bag of all ages - this queue had to stand and watch the antics of beggars (some claiming to be ex-army), drug dealers/takers and more than one zombie, one of which had clearly pissed himself. No police in sight. This great spectacle attracted lots of feral teenagers (just) who were, what used to be called, a public nuisance. I didn't see many remnants of culture. Not great.
Ah but did you see how they put he won't be at the Venue this year, I think they have done a deal and he's coming next year. Watch this space.
I know it's fun to pick on Bummers but I think he was right, it seems crazy to tweet something like that and have it turn out not to happen. From what they say about him being keen and it potentially happening next year suggests maybe it's a scheduling issue, but it still makes them look daft.
Personally I think announcing a line up of world class acts and saying one of them is Showaddywaddy makes people look daft.
Showaddywaddy aren't playing at the new Venue, I just mention this because I don't want people to end up being disappointed.
I know. Was quoting the announcement in the HDM about acts coming to Hull. I saw that you can spend an evening listening to the voice of Whitney Houston. £25 sounds a lot to sit and listen to some CDs or film clips.
