and the rumour mill is starting to gain more credibility now - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14693876.stm

Stoke are in talks to sign Tottenham midfielder Wilson Palacios and hope to agree a deal in the next 48 hours, BBC Sport understands.

The Honduras international played no part in Spurs' 3-0 defeat by Manchester United on Monday because of injury.

Palacios moved to White Hart Lane for £12m in January 2009, but he has found first-team opportunities limited.

Stoke boss Tony Pulis is believed to be prepared to pay around £6m for the 27-year-old.

Palacios made 22 starts for Spurs last season and featured for his country at the World Cup in South Africa, playing three times.

Spurs team-mate Peter Crouch has also been linked with a move to the Britannia Stadium in recent weeks.

He has managed just 12 goals in his 72 Premier League appearances for Harry Redknapp's side since his £9m arrival from Portsmouth in 2009.

Stoke Chairman Peter Coates told BBC Radio Stoke last week: "We've made our last bid, the ball is in their court. We shall not be negotiating from where we are.

"The last conversation I had with Spurs, we had not agreed anything. We'll see what happens, but we haven't got any further."

Even though Monday is a Bank Holiday, the FA is open, so we could submit the Palacios paperwork tonight and it would go through "officially" on Monday. I've wondered whether Palacios has actually signed already but we're waiting for Crouch to sign so we can announce them both at the same time.

Sky Sports sources understand that Tottenham midfielder Wilson Palacios is in advanced talks with Stoke over a move to the Britannia Stadium.

Potters manager Tony Pulis has made no secret of his desire to bring in further reinforcements before Wednesday night's transfer deadline.

He is keen to keep Stoke on an upward curve after making so much progress over the past few years, while they also need a strong squad to cope with the demands of a Europa League campaign.

Stoke identified Palacios as a transfer target some time ago, while they were also thought to be interested in signing his Spurs team-mate Peter Crouch.
A move for Palacios now appears to be edging closer to completion, with it understood that discussions are at an advanced stage.

Honduras international Palacios is a proven Premier League performer, having spent time with Birmingham and Wigan before moving to Tottenham in January 2009.

He has made more than 60 appearances during his two-and-a-half years at White Hart Lane, but started to slip down the pecking order last season and Harry Redknapp appears ready to let him leave.

I kept this quite this week guys but..
When I was at the Thun game on Thursday night, a guy by the name of the legend Harry Burrows told me it was" looking very promising and that Palacios was due to watch the Stoke game" I don't want to tempt fate but..... Could Harry be correct? I don't know if Wilson was at the Brit but It's looking positive... S S News are pretty accurate on these things. Advanced talks sounds good, But....

I won't believe it until he signs the .............. line <whistle>

This will be a a cracking signing !! I honestly cant think of a more dominant CM when on their game. The bloke is possibly one of the biggest tacklers in the game with a huge percentage on average of successful tackles made. He has however had a hard time in recent years and "IF" he signs we must make him feel at home from the off. Following the death of his brother he hasnt been on top of his game since joining spurs. I cant imagine what the lad went through but a clean slate is best for him and what better manager to have behind you than Tony Pulis.

Also guy's I think Crouch is a no-go, Arry is asking for a huge amount for the 31 year old.
I see many stokies on hear getting very stressed with the lack of activity. However I think some of us need to open our eyes a little more. We are looking at players like Parker, Cole, SWP, Jerome, Crouch and Barton and they tend to be looking at other options and we feel like we are missing out, however names such as Kalou, Malouda, Anelka and Sturridge all face the possibility of been sent out from just chelsea alone. I feel TP has got something up his sleeve that will shock us all. I know looking at them strikers names many of you will think this lad is crackers !! However just have a little faith and dare to dream because you may be very suprised what could turn up in sunny Stoke very soon ;)

http://twitpic.com/6c84rc According to the bloke who took this photo at Clayton Wood earlier on, Palacios said himself that he had signed. Not a scarf in front of the Boothen I know, nothing official I know, but it's good enough for me personally. Apparently, according to Stoke's ESPN correspondent, the bloke who took the pic was waiting from lunchtime for photographic proof and he got it at 11pm!! That's dedication for you!!

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...r-Peter-Crouch-Wilson-Palacios-15million.html

Tottenham striker Peter Crouch will head a list of England players on the move in transfer deadline week when he joins Stoke in a £15million double deal with White Hart Lane team-mate Wilson Palacios.
Crouch is set to complete his move in the next 72 hours following the arrival of Emmanuel Adebayor on loan from Manchester City.

The popular 6ft 7in Crouch might get the chance to say farewell to Spurs fans against City on Sunday if he recovers from an ankle injury because Adebayor is ineligible.
After that, Crouch is expected to head to the Britannia Stadium in the ninth transfer of a colourful career.

Honduras star Palacios, a top-rated holding midfielder, has agreed terms to link up with Tony Pulis's side and will join Crouch providing he passes a medical.
Pulis also hopes to make a third signing, Birmingham striker Cameron Jerome, before the window closes on Wednesday.
Birmingham's financial problems will lower the fee to £3.5m.
Palacios's departure will help to ease Scott Parker's move from West Ham to Tottenham.
The 30-year-old midfielder is also wanted by QPR and Aston Villa but has told West Ham he wants to play for Harry Redknapp's team.
Hammers boss Sam Allardyce has accepted Parker's £6m departure and wants Stoke's Republic of Ireland midfielder Glenn Whelan as a replacement.

Shaun Wright-Phillips will choose between QPR, Bolton and Stoke as he prepares to leave Manchester City.

To be honest John,I wouldn`t mind either, but if I had to choose I`d probably go for Bendner, simply because of his age and the difference in price.

Hope to find you are still awake mate? I have just spent the last half an hour watching twitter comments..
It looks as though Wilson Palacios was/is still at the Moat House and so is Peter Crouch. According to the comments/twitters I did read.
Wilson Palacios is now a Stoke player. Crouch i'm not sure but the guy said quote. " They are still in there and Tony Pulis has left, they were shaking hands"

End of quote Joe... Bloody hell mate, I feel like one of those Eastern European spies <yikes>
I had to log in, sign in, passwords the works to find this out.

NOT heard for certain that it's officially official if you understand. Maybe, the league rules state that.. Until the F.A. have the paper work in hand it can not be annouced to the public. Confused but also excited Joe. Hold on to yer hats one and all.

I asked earlier about if we could announce it tomorrow and apparently we can announce it tomorrow but it won't be official until Monday as the FA don't work on a Sunday.
