Yesterday was our developments squads last game of the season in the Central League South Division. We faced Bournemouth and fell to a 2-0 home defeat. Our team for the game was: Alexis Andre, Luke Russe, Kris Owens, Connor Jones, Ben Morgan, Michael Kelly, Mo Baghdadi (Lucas Tomlinson, 68), Cameron Hargreaves, Dom Telford, Trialist (James Spruce, 90), Cameron Ebbutt (Josh Bailey, 64) Unused subs: Charlie Ten Grotenhuis, Liam Armstrong However, despite the defeat, the development squad still finished champions of that division. Not bad seeing this was our 1st season with the development squad!!!
Seen them play a couple of times this season and they are a group that give their all. Listening to the interview with Chris Hargreaves it sounds as though some of them have not been offered contracts for next season, seems a bit hard win the league lose your job
It is harsh but I suppose he only wants a certain size squad and some will be promoted from the academy who could be better that what we got in the development squad, if you know what I mean. Is there an age restriction? I dont know.
Last game I saw CJS was against Plymouth which we won 2-0, Plymouth had 6 first teamers in their team that day
