you all have to agree what with each otehr. We mods don't pull a rawk round here and ban stuff. The rag ban is self policed.
they need 2 goals but anything is possible if they can match the payment to the ref that real make. Juve were into ET until oliver showed his white streak
Roma if we fail to score they need 3 goals If we score 1 they need 4 to win If we score 2 they need 5 just for et if we score 3 they need 7. I want our players like mane to show some sense and keep the studs down and don't give a ref an excuse. I'd love a quick goal for us on the break.
I note some quarters are quoted as saying there are no psecial teams in CL this year. so already trying to run our potential impeachment down i.e. pat nevin.
personally don't even think the Express merits the term newspaper any more but even by their , incredibly low , standards that article is just staggering in its prejudice .
It is a poor article. Our fans do have to be very careful in Rome though, I hope it all goes well and there is no trouble.
"There has been much debate about the importance and even the validity of the FA Cup over the past couple of seasons. Clearly, whether you like it or not, the Premier League and the Champions League take preference for the top clubs, but that isn’t to say it is totally disrespected. It is probably better to look at it as two separate entities - everything before the quarter-finals and then the business end afterwards. If you can navigate through the early rounds without exhausting your squad, when Wembley looms on the horizon, it is time to get serious. "For the lower league and indeed non-league clubs it is a different deal, but even the Lincoln City manager underlined that a quarter final tie away to Arsenal is not as important as winning their league title and getting back into the real Football League again. It is tough to square that pragmatism to the scenes I witnessed first-hand at Turf moor on Saturday. Doing the BBC radio commentary with my old friend John Murray and watching the celebrations as the last minute Lincoln winner knocked out their Premier League opponents was spine-tingling stuff. "So from one position the magic of the Cup, the sentiment and the glory is all there but the pragmatism is as likely from Lincoln boss Danny Cowley as it is from Antonio Conte." Pat Nevin, Feb 2017 Spine-tingling stuff.
Don't know about that mate, I would remove and links and I'm sure @Zanjinho would do the same. You can't manage everything but any links or quotes from the rag should be removed by a mod.
Disgraceful from the Express. Stereotypical, vicious rubbish. The writer has obviously not been around football very long or maybe he's never seen the Italian 'fans' in action both at home and abroad over many, many years. .........or read, or witnessed what the Roma fans did to Chelsea fans just a few months ago.
In 2001, six Liverpool fans were stabbed around a UEFA Cup tie in Rome. In 2006, three Middlesbrough fans were stabbed in the same city when attending a UEFA Cup tie. A year later, five Manchester United fans were stabbed before a Champions League group game. In 2009, a bus of Arsenal supporters was ambushed by Roma fans - they smashed the windows, stopped the bus, and one fan got on board and stabbed an English fan. Two months later, the Stadio Olimpico held the Champions League final. In 2012, a Spurs fan received treatment for stab wounds following an assault by Roma fans. And last year, Chelsea fans drinking in an Irish bar were attacked by masked Roma fans wielding metal bars. https://www.balls.ie/football/uefa-punishments-to-roma-387696

I had mates who went to the Roma game when we beat them in the final of the European Cup, as it was then, they said it was absolute carnage with a lot of LFC fans being beaten up and some stabbed whilst the Police just stood by doing nothing, those attacked were youngsters and families, not scallies looking for trouble. The hotel my mates where staying in was evacuated after Roma fans set fire to it and the LFC fans were bundled onto buses and taken to Milan airport and put on planes to France. They then had to pay again to get home. I worry the same will happen again as the Roma ultras appear to be untouchable and are allowed to do what they want by the Police.
