Absolutely love the Fratellis, so I'll have to get tickets even though it's not their gig. I did the same with the Ocean Colour Scene one last year.
Still waiting on announcing the obviously 100% booked-for-months Liam Gallagher opening the place I see.
It's supposed to open in the summer and the earliest event announced so far is in September, so I assume there's a few still to be announced.
Not sure how he's managed this, but probably best to avoid Dock Street for the next hour or so... please log in to view this image

Oops, looks like some read far too much into those tweets... Liam Gallagher won’t be appearing at the Hull Venue this year according to General Manager Dan Harris.
This is beyond ****ing laughable. So all they’ve done is highlight that they despeately wanted a mid-ranked artist - practically begged him - and he’s chosen not to appear. Absolute PR at its ****ing worst, concentrating purely on chatter and zero outcomes. Whoever did this should be sacked.
What are you laughing at? If its my above post you’ll obviously remember at the time that i said Liam surely must be booked otherwise it is such bad PR as to be laughable. I cannot believe anyone with any professional understanding of PR and what it is there for would ever make such an error. I’m embarrassed for him and the venue. But its probably seen ticket sales for Jasper Carrot and Alistair Mcgowan shoot through the roof as a result...
He's not a 'mid-range' act, he can still fill stadiums. He probably is playing the Venue next year, he's just not opening it. You've made far too much of this.
I’m not slagging him off, I’ve got no axe with Liam even though he is a carricature of himself. But he 100% is mid-range. He’s not Beyonce, he’s not even Noel. I haven’t made anything of it. I’m commenting on the truly woeful PR exercise of someone looking purely at chatter and column inches and **** all else.
