Look up "Planes over St James Park". The only disappointment from this season is Villa not going down with them.
+ I see what you mean. Revenge is a dish served cold I suppose. Looking at their board their posts are riddled with expletives.Someone should tell them that -'swearing is the efforts of limited minds trying to express themselves'
There’s always and exception to every rule and the Mackems must be that cos apparently swearing is now a sign of high intelligence according to some sciencey people :- https://www.sciencealert.com/swearing-is-a-sign-of-more-intelligence-not-less-say-scientists
While I would tend to agree, I think there are some exceptions, like the scruffy munter in the pub a couple of weeks ago who swore (loudly) literally every other word. I think there were even a few "****ing, ****ing" efforts in there as well. She actually claimed that she had Tourette's to the landlord who refused to serve her anymore but she just had filthy mouth and it was not in the least bit involuntary. She was with her kids too so god knows what they are going to turn out like. Swearing needs to be used to accentuate a point or for humour for best effect, and in that respect I think people who don't swear are actually the ones who have a limited vocabulary, if you see what I mean.
Don't take my word for it. Here is Stephen Fry on the subject and he's the cleverest man who ever lived: Or a full documentary about it:
Yes because reading a script while making a film or having a bank of researchers providing information through an ear piece via a producer makes you clever.
From what I've seen of him in interviews I think he is genuinely clever. I'm guessing you're not a fan?
Well read, well educated and seems a genuinely intelligent guy. I must admit I quite like him. Doesn't seem to have the snobbery associated with other assumed highly intelligent people. He seems to understand also that intelligence comes in many different forms and doesn't look down on people for perhaps being not so well read. I'm not a massive QI fan but I doubt they are sat feeding him information through an earpiece the whole time - though they will be giving steers. I think he as a genuine depth of knowledge on a variety of subjects. He also takes great interest in his guests musings on the various subjects. I can see the where the cynicism comes from though. His posh drawl and slightly awkward persona could be seen as an act. People looking at his mannerisms and determining its some kind of effort to portray genius. I think he undoubtedly does play up to it a little at times, as like anyone else in that business they are affection whores. They want to be loved. He is smart enough to know its also a selling point which keeps the money rolling in, he fits a certain caricature the business can use. Overall I don't think he is a that big of a ****
