Considering I really like Wes Anderson, I didn't like what I saw of it. I watched about 25 minutes of the first episode and it went off.
Oh right, thought it would be a one off I'm sick of this never ending series bollox nobody wants to just do a one off story. I might bin it then as it isn't good enough to carry on.
Don't get me wrong. There's a definite end to the story, so it's worth getting there. It's just at the very end, they have a 'team'.
An expected reply. Alias Grace... Based on the 1996 Margaret Atwood novel of the same name, "Alias Grace" tells the story of young Grace Marks, a poor Irish immigrant and domestic servant in Upper Canada who is accused and convicted of the 1843 murder of her employer and his housekeeper. Stablehand James McDermott is also convicted of the crime. McDermott is hanged, but Grace is sentenced to life in prison, leading her to become one of the most notorious women of the period in Canada. Top show and a one off.
I was chuffed to come across "Kill Your Friends" on Film4 last night. I read the book, which was very funny and corresponds to my cynical experience-fed view of the music business. Worth a watch if you catch it on repeat, though it might be a bit upsetting to fans of indie.
Watched season 1 and what there is of season 2 of The Handmaid's Tale ... liked it On episode 3 of The Punisher ... not bad so far, just about sticking with it Fear the Walking Dead first episode of new series was great, second alright ... it's better than the main show though
Infinity War ... standard Marvel fare, intermittently entertaining nonsense that the masses obviously gobble up given the money its taken
saw 2 films this weekend Rocky (the original). What a classic, borderline rapey in his scene with adrian and i was surprised he didnt win the fight!. Stallone was pretty good in it (i wasn't expecting much from him). 9.5/10 Red Sparrow - This ****er got some notoriously bad ratings but my whole house wanted to watch it. So put it on and surprisingly quite good plus a naked Jlaw for a bit. A bit far fetched but for a film it's pretty realistic. Really enjoyed it. 9/10
