I just hope Bournemouth put in the effort against them, unlike Pompey away to WBA all those years ago.
Will probably have the Bournemouth fans cheering Swansea on.

Thanks Laces. I said from the moment they signed him that was a steal at £40m and he’d probably finish top scorer, player of the season and players player of the season...

Well I can’t remember exactly what I said but I’m sure it was similar to that... <whistle>

Are we expected to provide a guard of honour for City at the end of the season?
Hand shakes before leg breaks so to speak.......

I’m hoping they will be providing us a guard of honour with the Theme from the Great escape playing full blast over the tannoy, with Pep presenting the three match balls Nathan picked up from the previous three games in a fancy cabinet, saying “I told you so.”

This following our 3 consecutive wins and Swansea’s three consecutive defeats.

Thinking about it, we should do the GoH, because the one thing we don't want to do is piss them off in the build up. Lets be as nice as possible, then kick chunks out of them while whispering.
'World Cup place in jeopardy.' And. 'That's a fragile looking metatarsal.'

    Sinister, right? <laugh>

Stoke have cancelled their end of season awards. Not a bad idea....perhaps we should do the same as quite frankly does anyone deserve an award? The only trouble with announcing it now is it smacks of giving up.

They should definitely sack off the awards. Nobody deserves it. Even if we somehow miraculously pull off the great escape it will still have been a terrible season.

And Saints got Frank Saul and also money that enabled them to buy the likes of John McGrath, Jimmy Gabriel, Hugh Fisher, Joe Kirkup. The list is endless. In those days did the crowd ever shout "Ted give us a wave?"

Well I wouldn't mind an award but I'm not sure I could outdo some of the players this season. <diva>

That’s the reality I agree, but it doesn’t alter the fact that everyone who supports a football team has their heroes, but those heroes are actually nothing but paper tigers. I suppose we should all learn to live in the here and now.

You been drinking again? Going all bleedin' philosophical. If you haven't noticed this is a football forum, ergo it is inhabited by morons. Sorry. Afternoon spent with rugby fans telling me how stupid football fans are.

Keep the awards. Best reason for a red card. Jack Stephens for whacking that Arsenal **** bag. Player least likely to score in brothel - argh, too many nominations.

I can well imagine your feelings when Martin Chivers was transferred. I was sad as well. At least there was Ron Davies and Terry Paine.

    We need the alternative awards.
The award for the management member slowest to react to our situation goes to........
    Nominations are:
    Mauricio Pellegrino
    Les Reed
    Ralph Kreuger
    Jisheng Gao

And it gave Mick Channon his breakthrough into the first team, so we soon forgot Chivers.

Funny, but I didn't catch the Chivers bug. Channon,on the other hand, completely blew me away.Sadly, poor Chivers is remembered in my mind as the player who chose not to turn up when it mattered. 1973, Poland at Wembley, and Channon and Clarke ran themselves into the ground while Chivers ponced about.

I think he scored well over a century of goals for the wonderful Hotspurs, so Bill can´t have been that bad.

These were essentially three central forwards so space was somewhat compressed, plus the "Clown Goalkeeper" was outstanding, while Alf did identify 3/4 world class players within the Polish ranks and he was subsequently proved right as they finished in bronze place.
