Sounds as though we don't have any real strategy. "Millwall and Preston are in the play offs, so it can be done." Great.

I accept that other teams have got massive budgets but what he doesn't seem to understand is that if we just spent an extra £20m over a couple of years on transfer fees for key players it would give us a much, much better chance. At the moment we are burning money without any return for him anyway.

I actually thought it was pretty decent on the whole. Nothing revolutionary but that should be seen as a good thing as he wasn't desperate for approval from the fans by making bold and extravagant statements (See Leeds, Forest, Newcastle, Blackburn, Coventry as examples)

It might be seen as dull or uninspiring to trot out the same narrative of recent years, but I think it's positive to see an owner show some consistency and at least set out how he wants to be judged:
A Successful academy that produces 1st team players,
A developing playing style (exciting, within reason), with the aim of promotion
Greater Links with the community and engaging more effectively with the fanbase
Only selling up if it's right for the club... [This one did pose a few further questions as not sure he really put to bed the "Fully committed" statement he made]

All of this has been discussed to death, but now the man himself has put it out for all to see and quash a lot of the previous debates about his views and opinions,

Like I said, nothing to get too excited about and is probably 10 years overdue, but perhaps he has seen this as an error and is going to ensure a more visible leadership structure moving forward with better communication from the club. Hopefully so anyway.

Warmed up, refried hash of gobbledegook that's been heard before, in other words no change on strategy just a change of manager.
Radio Suffolk refused to broadcast the interview because they couldn't put there own questions to him, good for them, and now he's going with the reclusive bullshit again, wow that's different ! That's revolutionary !

I know it wasn’t the hardest interview and the questions were spoon fed but I felt myself (surprisingly) feeling rather impressed with ME and what he had to say. I know the proof of the pudding is in the eating but it was a good start. He certainly said the right things and on hearing him speak, just wish he would have been more visible for the last 10 years. I feel promotion/relegation are an irrelevance, what I want is a club (not just the 1st team but in its entirety) that I can be proud of again and that belongs to the fans. For the 1st time in a while, I’m a tad optimistic about the future

Reading off a bloody script, pre empted / lacked emotion - sounded bloody clueless to be honest and very concerned as to where we're heading right now.

Agreed Westy, he probably wrote the questions in the first place, when you analyse what he said he didn't say anything but more of the same, just incredibly disappointing, aimless, dispiriting, predictable nonsense.
Evans has completely failed to grasp the fans disillusionment and apathy, taxi for Evans.

He gives one interview in 11 years (only because ticket sales are well down) and everyone thinks that he is the Messiah! <doh>

I got an email today telling me I had only 4 days to take advantage of the low price season ticket offer, if that " interview " was supposed to stimulate ticket sales it was a ludicrous attempt at best.
Who would buy when the manager is unknown, the playing staff is unknown, no mention of renovating the stadium and no drive, ambition, or intensity conveyed before returning to this idiotic reclusiveness, we need leadership from the front to ignite enthusiasm not a mouthpiece with no authority, for Gods sake man just go.

    You miserable bunch <laugh>

I thought it was Ok, nothing to get too excited over, but was at least a step in the right direction to see and hear our reclusive owner put some things on record, even if they were scripted, they were still his words and something for fans to now hold him accountable to.

I agree that hardly touched upon some of the topics that we desperately wanted addressing and then did so in a pretty generic woolly responses in most cases, but you could see how Keane, Jewell and Mick have all had respect for him (Keane even saying he'd rather deal with ME than Clegg)

Thought it was a decent interview but all of his written articles and I believe he has done a radio interview before he's talked the talk but the proof will be in the pudding and the right appointment for the club is very important but not just that also keeping to this 5 point plan. I have to say I wish he'd come up with that when he first came to the club then we wouldn't of had as many years without direction and perhaps would have spent 5 years ridding Town of the value which make us ITFC and the last 5 years now trying to bring them back.

Haven't heard it yet (just come back from a few days in Rome with the other half), but can this count as an official interview? Evans has only given one interview to external media in his time here, and it sounds like he's parroting the same lines he used last year. Actions speak louder than words. Let's hope he gets this next appointments right.

Read the summary on TWTD. Of course it was scripted, planned, choreogrphed and all that goes with it, but what else were we expecting?

Interviews are ultimately meaningless anyway - no matter how they're conducted - if the follow up action doesn't match; he's shown his face, put himself into the firing line at a time when fans are more than willing to pull the trigger. It's a small step, but it's in the right direction and at least the words are right.

It's not demanding instant success, it's not "operation premiership", it's part of a clearly defined structure - what I've taken from the interview is that the manager hunt finally has the whole club in mind, not just first team. That can only be positive in my mind.

Problem with this manager hunt - if it does take until late May / June and we're not doing behind the scenes talks with players - guess who will be behind every other club at this level - oh yes, us.

It's essential we get someone in pretty much tying in with the season close in my opinion, or next season is going to be more difficult than necessary.

I was expecting a bit of passion, a it more. Just sums it up for me.
