There are definitely both "glass half full" and "glass half empty" types on this board. Great we got a win - for points, for morale/confidence, for the fans (well....some of them, anyway). For me, the glass is half full and we have to carry on and fill it! UTT TFFT
I thought today was a very similar game to both Blackpool and Palace, with the exception we managed to score a goal and keep a clean sheet. Looking at the stats we again had tons of possession had a load of attempts on goal and created enough pressure to force a shed-load of corners. Difference was that Reading were very poor. I think the post match interview indicated once more that NP is aware the attack needs altering because we again failed to turn posession and attempts into genuine, quality opportunities to score. Just a thought but, after Joe Dudgeon getting dropped, I wonder at what time NP will consider dropping Matty Fryatt?
Still dodgy regardless of the win. At least one or two passeswent to our own players today. Still way out of position on numerous ocassions , thank god for Chester's positioning. But as he's Pearsons bum boy along with Fryatt he's always gonna play. At least Pearson had the guts to bring Fryatt off and not before time (probably not the first time either , if you know what i mean)
Going by your obvious bitterness and pathetic bile towards NP, Hobbs and Fryatt I take it (by your name) that you are a junior supporter of the Leicester Tigers rugby club?
To anyone who is knocking Jack Hobbs, remember the last centre back we had that had some supporters getting on his back? His name was Michael Turner and look at what he has achieved since then. Cut Hobbs some slack for gods sake!
Hobbs has never been anywhere near as bad as made out by some. He was absolutely fine today too. Everyone played well and I thought in particular Chester, Koren and Brady were quality. We looked a lot more exciting going forward today, the team were applauded off at half-time when they hadn't scored so you can't say the goal was the only difference. There is still room for improvement up there but I was delighted with the improvement today.
You couldnt be further from the truth Craigie baby , Hull born and bred . Gipsyville, Hessle and now residing Pickering Road and 51 years old sonny, probably seen more defenders than you have had hot dinners. So regardless of your comments i stick by mine, Pearson is not cut out for management , Hobbs is absolutely shi te and Fryatt , well i'll say no more. i see more exciting players on sundays at picky park.
When Hobbs is as good as Turner , i'll come on here and apologise to you all. Dont think i'll be doing that soon then eh.
Yeah but when he first came, Turner never looked as good as he ended up being. That's the point being made.
The comparison to Turner is ridiculous. Imo, no city centre half will come close to being as good as Turner. Just like no centre mid will be as good as Ashbee and no winger will be as good as Stuart Elliot. Hobbs played very well today, not as good as Chester but he didn't really put a foot wrong. He's only going to get a lot better but lets not compare him to one of our best ever centre halves.
I'm 48 as it happens and I learn't to be critical without needing to use sick insults at about 14. Shame you didn't.
James Chester is already better than Mike Turner! (whisper) ...but don't tell anyone, especially Slumberland!
Have you never got anything postive to say Tigersteve, your posts make me cringe, its like reading Percy with a lobotomy
I think i am being positive , just writing as i see it week in week out . Thats my opinion , am i not entitled. Im not asking you to agree or disagree.
Unfortunately Tigersteve you are on my ignore list with Doveston now, if I wanted to listen to a load of moaning I'd go to my mams for tea
Noooo . Chester has this immense tackling ability but he's never going to be the all round central defender like Michael was
