What have we done to piss off the officials this season?

I know that people say that over a season these things balance themselves out, but this season we seem to have been on the receiving end far too often.

I realise it's only been five games, but we've been on the receiving end for roughly five of those games.

We seem to draw the short straw every game, we were screwed over at Leeds(though Gulasci helped Leeds more than the ref) and we were screwed over again today, what was Koren's yellow card for?

Griffin should have received a second yellow and walked, we got yellows when they got smiles and nods and they even got to continue playing when Kebe played the ball in from two feet over the line.

None of these dodgy decisions really affected any of the results, but we do seem to have been screwed over a fair bit this season, have we upset someone?

These things always annoy me, little decisions that don't actually affect much so they don't make the news but they're still appalling decisions and certain players always seem to get away with the same things.

Andy Griffin today should have been sent off for that assault on Koren in the first half. It was disgusting, Koren passed the ball and then Griffin just came in and wiped him out about an hour or so after the ball had gone. I'm convinced if that was say Joey Barton he'd have ben sent off and everyone would be talking about him keeping his temper in check. Or indeed if Koren had broken his leg, he'd definitely have gone off. I don't see why that should affect the decision but it definitely does.

If that isn't bad enough, we got 3 yellow cards for the most inoccuous stupid things. Fryatt getting the same punishment for timidly sliding into the 'keeper when chasing the ball was farcical.

I'm sick of seeing Mclean get pushed around and held onto every game. It should be a foul but the ref's totally ingnore it most of the time, I think it's because he's a midget.

It's the inconsistancy that annoys me the most. Like today when Koren (I think) was dragged back when we was on the break an nothing happens. Then 2 minutes later one of our players (Koren?) in the same situation hardly touches Kebe, but he gets a yellow. Either give them both a yellow or none at all.

I hate it when a referee realises he made a bad decision, then decides to book the next player to even think about making a foul, just to rectify his previous mistake.

Ha, you never have to touch Kebe for him to go down, he's a ****ing cheat and nothing less.

I have to agree, surely the referee has to consistently book or consistently not book, not swap around all the time. The people who are in charge of the officials keep say they are striving for consistency, i have to admit that for both teams the referee was awful. I felt they had a very good penalty shout in the first half.

The Fryatt one was a yellow without a doubt, got the keeper about 5 seconds after the ball had gone, no need at all to slide in.

    Griffin should have walked though.

How slow was it though? He'd been sliding for ages and had almost come to a stop when he tickled the 'keeper...

I notice this too. Constantly held back and being dragged about but never gets a decision. I think it's because he's too much of a professional and continues to play without moaning, diving or (I can't remember who it was, Mifsud?) screaming every time he gets touched.

Everyone knows griffin should have gone. Even McDermott did the sensible thing and took him off soon after the second challenge.

Cheers :) I don't remember his name, just the loud girly screams then the majority of the east stand screaming at him every time he touched the ball :)

There were lots of debateable decisions today. The Griffin one (definately two yellows) was obvious, but there were also what appeared to be 2/3 handballs that were let go.

I have to say that all I thought all our yellows were deserved (McKenna's was just stupid), but we also got away with a couple. Dawson picked the ball up and ran away from one of their goalkicks, then left it besides the byline, totally denying any chance of a quick goalkick, and McKenna's attempted rugby tackle (on Leigertwood?) that I think only avoided a yellow due to advantage being played and there not being a stoppage for about 2 minutes afterwards.

Otherwise I agree with what is a fair assessment from you here, weak and inconsistent rather than biased.

There was some very strange decisions yesterday. Kebe heading the ball from outside of play comes to mind and how Griffin wasn't off the pitch i really don't know.

I'm sure I saw some shirt tugging on Fryatt at one point that should have been noticed, or maybe it was the crazy hailstones ;)

Some of the offsides being given are diabolical. Do the assistant referees really know the offside rule.

I didn't have an issue with that. He was right in front of me and although he was out of play the ball was just in.

I haven't seen a decent comment on any board about any ref yet - I think standards are plummeting and the officials are diabolical for everyone
