It was his reply to Nixon saying ‘Don’t know about any possible interest in Hull. Could be. Not aware of it.’
I think it translates to mean ‘rumour of sale = no protests = another season where we’ve got away with it’
He's right about one thing though. 'Fans desperately hope it's true'. If I may be so foolish for a second, maybe any deal hinged on our championship survival this season and talks can now resume.
Thing is, if they were intelligent...and wanted out sooner rather than later (given they are not football fans and must really think of City as a pain in the ass, and not in an Elmo way) with maximum cash extracted, why wouldn't they just factor in the known parachute payment amounts into any sale price, i.e. price adjusted. Obviously if they are greedy ****s (nah, really?) then I suppose they want to strip the last few assets bare. But they could still factor asset value into any sale - so I suppose the question is, am I missing something? Other than them being vindictive ****s of course.
Other than them being vindictive ****s of course. Unfortunately, LeftSaidFred, I do think that they like turning the knife at any opportunity that they can because it makes them feel good as they must have **** lives really and being vindictive probably gives them a hard on.
Id take a rumor at the mo, its been too quiet regarding the sale of the club recently. Hopefully now we're safe they'll be some movement.
Have you not learnt anything? Takeover talk put out by the club happens just before the new season starts or in the January transfer window, everything else is just bullshit. My gut feeling is that when the Allams decide they've had enough we will be put into some sort of administration / gone bust type thing.
Did a new thread about Adam Pearson’s interest in buying Sunderland but got merged into here, so looked stupid - not the first or last time for me, I’m sure.
