it was on channel 5 last night, a What a rivalry that was, It’s a shame there’s no needle between the teams nowadays, What I want to know is how did Van Persie to United come about, Because that signing won us the league inn the 2012/13 season.
The greatest rivalry in the prem. Both managers were at the top of their game. Looking back, Wenger did superbly to win titles and doubles in an era where Utd where spending **** loads on players around the £30m mark and Wenger was picking up the likes of Vieira and Ljungberg for £3m They are apparently quite good friends now and I though it was a classy tribute from Fergie when Wenger's resignation was announced
Didn't you field an entire team of foreigners whilst the home grown 'Class of 92' were winning everything in sight? Wenger was absolutely nowhere near Fergie's level, he got close over a few years but fell by the wayside like the rest of them eventually.
True it was a culmination of Chavs being bankrolled and Wenger juicing Graham's team. Once they aged it was just the Chavs really....until City popped along. Spurs are slow on the uptake due to financial restraints but you get the jist.
Come off it mate, you're only capable of rattling one person on this forum and it ain't me. Stop acting like Arsenal are back cos the old scab is hanging up his sandals.
I'm not. As for Fergie, he was more successful than Wenger, I ain't even gonna argue that one. But Wenger did it on a fraction of the budget. Good times seeing those two going at it and the rivalries on the pitch too
