If we were to go down I think some might be overestimating how much cash we will have in the bank, on top of what we already have mind. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see a number of players leave on loan.
Whoever leaves or stays the important thing is to build a viable competitive side. If our present side can't fight in the EPL, I don't see them competing in the Championship. If relegated, some very important decisions await.
I'm not worried about Reed and Krueger as much as I am about Gao. 8 months into his ownserhip and still not heard about his plans for the club, regardless of what league we are in...
Yes, but with a special clause that allows us to be promoted immediately if we can manage a 180 degree turnaround in form before May.
What did Cedric say in the press? I remember when fonte left he mentioned he had a contract and would honour it.
Likewise. I still harbour fantasies of Cortese riding back in on a white stallion (that’s head will likely be left in someone’s bed).
I was just going to post that it has been said a lot 2-3 years back that it was an exciting time to be a Saints fan. It’s still an exciting time to be a Sainst fan.
I do agree with the presenters on the Radio Solent piece, that if LR is out the door next month then it is vital that Hughes stays to get on with the clear out regardless of which league we are in. I would though urge caution as Hughes has history when allowed full control of buying and selling....look at QPR. Hopefully (although not confident) we have a replacement director lined up to replace him bearing in mind the weeks and months of lead up to LR departing
Said that him and VVD had moves set up for the summer but the club blocked the moves, saying they were both to stay for the coming season. Then one of them moved in January, the other didn't .
The truth is sadly the board made some very bad decisions back before Christmas. They made a statement that they were backing the manager although by then it was obvious to most he wasn’t up to the job. Most of the more experienced players were also jittery about his plans. The board then had to sack the manager they had backed without any real preparation. The board are a farce.......... The new owners don’t appear to be that interested and just seem to be using us as a money laundering project. It would not surprise me for them to get their intitial stake back by selling the top players then selling the club cheaply for a hundred million or so. A good investmeant for them over three years!!!
I am happy to give him a chance in the Championship (and even happier to give him a further chance in the EPL ). I think that we need a no nonsense manager to sort out the problems in the squad. And I'm not sure how many great managers there are out there who would be attracted to Saints at the moment. I hoped that a solid manager like Hughes would have had a greater effect on a team I regarded as talented but lost than he has, but I think I underestimated just how useless some of our team are....or perhaps how poisonous the atmosphere is. I'm willing to let him start another season when he has a more decent chance of proving himself....with the proviso that we don't wait so long if it goes bosoms up.
I don't think we're much of a money laundering vehicle, given the fact Gao appears unable to get his money out of China. Whatever his game is, it probably isn't that.
