He's useful as far as I'm concerned.

  2. For all the piss-taking he has to endure, he's a solid utility player.

I always thought he was one of Everton's best players. Tough as nails, too.

    Agreed.

For certain games and if plan A isn't working then he's a really good plan B.

  6. Today, I skipped breakfast, as I do most days.

For lunch I had smoked salmon with two boiled eggs, followed by pineapple, an apple, and a banana.

I've had three cups of unsweetened green tea.

I won't eat again, now, until around 10pm. Roast chicken.

Shouldn't skip breakfast ... slow release cereals would see you through to your main meal <cheers>

I wouldn’t skip breaskfast. Your metabolism won’t thank you. Neither will eating at 10pm, you ****ing wibbling rancid fat tub of lard*

*that last bit was just designed to spur you on.

    Fatty :)

Nope ... we have apparently all but concluded the signing of Porto right back Ricardo Pereira for a fee in the £20 millions ...

Felaini would be most unlikely to get in ahead of Wilf Ndidi, Iborra, Silva or Nampalys Mendy ...<ok>

  12. Wrong.

Fasting, used sensibly, and matched with a proper fitness regime is a proven way of burning white fat.

Glycogen levels are low after fasting, so during heavy exercise the body has to burn into existing fats reserves.

  13. Okay.

I will ignore the advice of nutrition experts who have conducted research into this area at Ohio State University.

    Thanks, Pix.

You could just have a banana mate. Slow release of energy and low GI, full of fibre and slow release of potassium and will stop your cravings :)

  15. I don't have any morning cravings, Pix.

I do take a high-quality whey protein drink after my workout, but it's a mere 250ml.

I consume around 2 litres of water a day, and around 6 or 7 cups of green tea. I find that that keeps the hunger pangs under control, so that I can eat a nutritionally balanced diet, spread throughout the day, but engineered so that most of the calories are consumed during the evening. I have always favoured my evening meal.

The research that I have looked into goes into great depth about how to manage one's calorie intake to maximise the peaks and troughs of one's glycogen levels, to fit around an exercise regime, whilst meeting one's hunger pangs.

Following this regime, I have found that the results are quite stunning, so far.

  16. I should emphasise, of course, that the particular regime that I am following is designed to maximise weight loss.

This regime would not be suitable for those of you who have a good level of fitness, and wish to increase or maintain peak levels.

Shares in Harvester must have plummeted.

  19. At the end of the Summer, I am going to start a thread to which board members will be encouraged to post full-length and recently-shot photos of themselves, to demonstrate how they look and, if they have it, to show off their musculature.

I know that the likes of you, Bambi, and Skids will all want to take part in that.

Of course, being a complete and utter chubster, I know that I will embarrass myself against you lean-mean-fighting machines; but - hey! So be it, yeah?

  20. Not necessarily.

I visit a lot of restaurants, what with working away from home quite a bit. Again, I gear my diet regime so that I can take most of my calories in the evening.

Other than that, it's simply a matter of being careful about what I eat.

Harvester is actually a good place to eat, for those on a calorie controlled diet. There's a good salad bar, and plenty of lean protein foods on the menu.

    I avoid puddings and alcohol.
