Carlos managed to get some good games out of the **** hand he's been dealt here, maybe the novelties worn off and the players just don't have the man up left in them ? But if he can get in thier heads to fight hard enough one more time then surely the owners will gave learned by now that you need to strike early and big enough to get some quality in for next term. And not drag it out till it's to late and the dregs are left !
We may have played the Champions and the best team that have played in the premiership but that is no excuse to roll over and die right from the kick off. Nobody came away with any credibility as we were shapeless everywhere......But when you analyze our past games we were just as bad against lesser teams and had some luck against teams like Hudders who tore us apart and Everton that was so poor we still could not beat them......Chelsea up next and i cant see anything but a loss there and all of a sudden we will be just one point ahead and we have to face Bournemouth who will beat us with their home form and should Saints or stoke pick up points then we will have had it......I have not an ounce of confidence that Carlos has the knowhow to beat anyone when the pressure is rife...
I'll stick my neck out and say that we will stay up. We will draw against Chelsea, beat Bournemouth and then the Saints and Stoke will have crumbled and we'll beat those as well to make it look like a reasonable season. Carlos will be given a new contract, we'll have more **** summer signings and we'll go through the whole process again next season.
Did anyone seriously think we would get anything out of today's game given the circumstances.i.e. City already champions so wanting to put a show on for their fans. Better to preserve our energy for the four more important games coming up from which I think we only need four points. I think it's more realistic to think we can get something from the Chelsea game than it was today.
Calls for Carlos to go are very premature. He was handed a demoralised squad. We are not going to persuade Mourinho or Bielsa to take over and the sooner that is accepted the better. We need a good manager with a better squad and a full pre-season to end up between 7th and 14th. We had a good manager in Guidoline who was hounded out after being treated shockingly. In Carlos we have a manager who will get us points and performances to be in the sweet zone.
TBH Chelsea could do the same if they are in the mood (although that's unlikely at home). Both City and Chelsea were games most fans would have hoped for points from but realistically expect nothing. Another game where avoiding injuries and suspensions is more important than outstanding performance.
It is not that we lost. It is the way we lost and we have been poor for a long time and the pressure is immense and Carlos cant handle it. After the Bournemouth game we will be as good as relegated because we wont beat Stoke or the Saints who are showing they are trying to win games, unfortunately one of those two will be joining us and WBA into the Championship.....
I will single out Carol, A Ayew, Ki, and Naughton as the worst of a bad gutless bunch today, there was a plan, and it failed spectacularly. we sat deep and parked a bus, we were back to the bad old days of Clement, let's hope that Carlos can sprinkle some magic for the next fixture, one good win will be a big tonic after today.........
Demoralised squad then but this is now , the players can't wait to throw themselves at the cameras bleating the same old bullshit "what a difference CC has made" blah blah blah , yes he has made difference so were the players not following orders to tackle or harry or actually try to make an effort or was it instructions from the bench either way that as a shocking performance naïve at best unprofessional at worst . A lot of low paid workers travelled yesterday to support that bag of ****e and I bet this week we'll have another announcement from the club that our support is vital , you couldn't make it up
The fans support has been unequivocal, shame the players can't give us something to shout about for a change.
