Really? Never met him but I know a lot of people who have and they all have the same opinion of him. It differs from yours somewhat.
I didn't have an in depth interview. I was In a boozer and introduced to him. Had a chat and he was all positive about the hull united thing. Got a lot of good press at the time as i recall. Be interesting to see what people were saying about him when he started all the free tickets stuff.
Yeah spiks to him a bit at Hull United games. He seemed alright. Had loads of big ideas but he was all positive then and made a point of being the antithesis of the Allams, which was obviously popular. Now all the noises he makes are negative; attacking the fans/community, playing the club and its prospects down and seemingly going for as much negative press as possible. Gone the same way as the Allams basically. When it first went sour at Hull United it all looked very dodgy early on. There were accusations about dodgy dealings being done in the club's name by him. Probably still just accusations now but I found it believable despite having always liked him. Like Carmine I've spoke to people who knew him and seemed to think he was a good guy.
As a person maybe he is an OK bloke, but as someone to run a football club, he has obviously been to the Allam's school of "Not how things should be done". Being a nice bloke doesn't make you a good business man.
Maybe it could be a holiday camp for travelers? Everyone needs a change every now and then don't they.
I agree, and few deserve a hard-earned break quite as much as our travelling community. The way they graciously cope with the mean words thrown at them by the people they've robbed - and whose gardens they've decorated with rancid turds - is exemplary. Truly a credit to British society and a beacon of light in these dark days of anti-multiculturalism. #holibobs4gypos
Last year, my eldest daughter was let down by a venue in town which went bust a week or so before her 30th birthday. She put a request for any ideas for alternatives on facebook. Jamie actually replied offering Dunswell Park for free. They were in the process of refurbing it as a wedding venue. He literally worked round the clock making sure it was fit for purpose in time. He was grafting til the early hours and then as he was playing football himself Saturday, worked pretty much up to kick off then was back on it immediately afterwards. This was all because she had looked after their kids when they were at a mutual friends wedding abroad. Afterwards, he was that impressed with her planning that he also asked my daughter if she wanted work arranging weddings for the venue(she declined). He actually seemed a really decent and impressive fella. It was only actually afterwards that the penny dropped about who he was, so quite shocked with his antics at Ferriby.
Ah I forgot that (although I didn’t realise how involved he’d been) Seems weird what he’s doing with Ferriby though, particularly in light of how you’ve seen him operate. Trying to move them and then this ‘travellers’ stunt, which at best is a cack handed way of reminding the locals that it would be easier if they actually supported the club themselves. Odd
