He'd have left the ref in no doubt. The ball, Lambert, the GK, the ref, everything would've ended up in the net.
I don’t know if it does or doesn’t, I’m just saying that if Poll says it is a law then my comment above stands. I didn’t think it was a foul even with that ‘law’ I’m sure @tomw24 will tell us.
Sounds like a not606 meet. Bednarek did well. I thought we put a lot of bodies in the way today and our plan nearly worked. Pierre looked ok to me, not necessarily excellent but I would have taken Lemina off rather than Pierre. Wes also sorted himself out a bit last 20 but it was too late by then. Neither of their goals should have been allowed to happen from a defensive stand point. We weren’t good enough, but I expected that against Chelsea and this plan so nearly worked.
Still a massive queue to Marylebone at Wembley station but the train I'm on just left while my coach is practically empty
I see it a bit. The hand bags came out near where my ST is last season in the defeat to Spuds at Christmas. Embarrassing and people wanting to fight each other or meet outside to “sort it out” Numbskulls.
Goalkeeper ending up in the net is NEVER given. It doesn't matter which team he is playing for. Hazard and Willian were different gravy and that French bastardo ALWAYS scores against us. So, we did alright all things considered. If Shane had turned down his first touchometer to "deft" from "**** it oot the park" then things may have been different. What I take from the game is Charlie looking like an absolute menace and chomping at the bit to win us a couple of games in the next few. Watch out Swansea.
I don't know what to think of Long. He works extremely hard and typically we've done poor when he's not on the pitch. But him messing up these chances is so frustrating and working with two strikers usually doesn't seem to work for us
Long is a liability. Played well today, lost to the better side. Can’t fault the effort. Big lack of movement in the team when on the ball, but we knew that already.
Glad to hear the positive news plus just checked the table and we’ve now got a 4 gd advantage over Swansea courtesy of City, so simple really beat them and Bournemouth, couple of points from Everton and City(yes we can!) and job done!!! Simple. Keep with it Saints and supporters alike
Tbh I’m super proud of my Saints, win lose or draw I don’t really care, what ever league, what ever Cup competition they will always make me proud. Unfortunately me and my boy couldn’t go today because I couldn’t afford to take him,but there will be more games at Wembley to enjoy. Mark Hughes for me is the man to take Saints forward for me,with the right players in we will be ok. Bring on the Bournemouth game, give it a real good shot and who knows.
Not much going our way. Last match referee didn't see something everybody else could and this match the ref sees something nobody else could see. Couldn't possibly be to do with the size of club you play surely!
Hum .... great day, as always. Lots of endeavour, effort but we were really never at the races. Missed our boat last Sat at 13.45 (or whatever the time was). All up to MH now. His man management, passion, tactical nous may get us over the line but even me, always positive, hoping, wishing may end up with this gut wrenching feeling of, what may have been.
We tried, we failed. That’s it really. Another day and we would have taken our chances and made the game closer.
Beat Bournemouth,Swansea losing by such a big score doesn’t help them in anyway. Goal difference could be the difference between staying up and going down. Then Swansea next ......who knows,we’ve got to believe our luck will turn a bit in our favour. Everton could be troublesome away Then City at home.......who knows, let’s hope they are on their holidays when they turn up.
