- So what cr@p will SB come up with now? - Yesterday stated a win today would see us with 4-points out of 9-points (also waffled about if we'd beat N'castle which clearly didn't happen so why say it)......well surprise surprise we only have 2-points of which 6-points were against at best mid-table opposition. - We have once again failed to score.....what's the point in spending £10m of 'strike force' if you aint gonna play them from the start (or at least one of them). - What's this cr@p about Wickham, age, gentle start etc.....how old was Rooney/Owen/Fowler/Shearer etc etc when they started banging the goals in - either you have it or you don't. - Can SB explain the logic in getting all those players (a combo of relegated and non-prem experience but granted on their day the former can play) ahead of pre-season training....oh thats right it was so they can gel and hit the ground running....no comment. - We appear to be unable to play for a full 90-mins, didn't go to L'pool but the N'Castle game was a classic example of this - appears 'missing' mins again today. - I like the vast majority of fan have seen enough to understand the logic of one or two things, players in early, bolster squad numbers, build for future aswell as now (?) but the simple truth is whilst SB talks a good game (or s**t depending on your take) he is simply lacking in tactical nouse pre and during games for us to progress to a level we all feel we should be reaching. - Very much doubt anything will happen to SB - why would the club sanction recent/new signings if they didn't support him but the bulls**t he spouts and poor team management is surely being recognised by the board and not just the fans - what's NQ/ES's take on the inconsistancy which we are seeing now and in the last 2-seasons? We cannot keeping going on winless sprees akin to previous seasons as simply put we'll get found out eventually. - Minimum 2-strikers required and for God sake a LW (may be able to muddle through without a LB) to give us any hope and joy that we are to avoid the frustrations of the last few weeks - early days but if not I don't hold much hope for the season. - 3-weeks in an already p*ssed off with the season - SB please go on a crash course on how to get the best out of players/play as a team (and stop the bulls**t)......NQ grow some balls and take stock of what is going on - not suggesting getting rid of SB (YET) but review the results/performances since January and not just this season (maybe overreacting but when we went down the season Reidy was fired off it fell off the back of a dismal 5-months the season before) and consider the need to make difficult decisions if matters do not improve. - As always we the fans will KTF (but being tested to the max of late) but we need reassurance and results from the bods at the top.......roll on next week
SB just been on radio and said Wickham and Ji were never meant to be played much this season. Which means he intended (has) gone into the season with ONE striker. Now the problem with that is if the said ONE striker isn't in form (which looks that way) we effectivly have NO foooooking strikers. It's starting to make sense is it not????
transfer window ain't closed yet. I'm embarrassed for these armchair managers - why do you think SNQ & ES persist with Bruce - its because they know & understand football, I suspect you do not understand it as much as you think(as Bruce is still the manager and there is no media clamour for him to go, nor any proper Bruce out chants) If it was easy to build and manage a football team we would all do it, its not so we don't.(Quinn tried if you can remember) Only three games into the premier season, one defeat - why would you sack your manager? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...iticism-of-his-sides-start-to-the-season.html Have an opinion by all means, but don't say your keeping the faith.
Guys. You keep talking as if this is just a blip at the start of this season, but,...... Look at the slump last season. Errrr.. and the season before that? Could be that our slump has started early this time, What you doing? Errr... Keeping the Faith - In Bruce? x
One local journo in a provincial newspaper is not media clamour Mackemsrule, don't flatter your bob - we would be much maligned for getting rid of Bruce. Bruce recognised the squad last year was not good enough, 10 signings shows that - don't forget either we finished tenth - or do you remember selectively to suit your argument? 2 away games & 1 home game, 1 defeat - you call that a slump, would you sack all our managers who finished lower than tenth and had a similar record, we would be getting rid of them at the rate of one a season. Get real lads, howay.
"don't flatter your bob" What does this mean? Provincial? So national reporters know more than local? Once again the whole of last season is being ignored. I remember we were lucky to finish tenth. HAway the lads!
if Villa had not fluked a result we would have been 9th. Provincial is local, national is national. bob = Bruce out Brigade The whole of last season is being ignored, otherwise you would acknowledge the net result which was a tenth place. Your choosing to remember only the bad run.
we will have to agree to disagree I guess, I have been asked to let it drop for the sake of the greater good , its been done to death before.
We scraped 10th by the skin of our teeth after beating the worst team in the league and having a slightly better goal difference than WBA. I choose to remember what actually happened on the pitch, not just accept mediocrity. So you are saying because some twat works down London (national) and not in the NE (provincial) he is more intelligent? Ok then What does, don't flatter "YOUR" Bruce out brigade, mean?
So I take it I'm not going to get an answer to...... What does, don't flatter "YOUR" Bruce out brigade, mean?
Just because a journalist for a local rag has a pop at Bruce does not mean your right. As I said we could easily have finished ninth had Villa not got an injury time goal in their last game, but thats football. Finishing tenth mediocrity - where were you when we were in the third division, or had Mick Buxton, Len Ashurst and Terry Butcher as manager - thats mediocrity, finishing tenth in the premiership is not. Yes I was dissapointed when the season has promised better, but no doubt you will also ignore the sale of Bent by the club & the injuries. As I said, if we get shot of managers who finish tenth then chances are we would getting rid of them every other season just to keep you happy.
its been done to death, Bruce will not be manager forever so ultimately you will be right, so well done in advance. As Syd said, as long as Bruce has Quinn & Shorts backing he will have mine. As for mistake, show me a man who has made no mistakes and i will show you a man who has done nothing.
Why does everyone keep persisting with the "its only 3 games in line". Bruce's poor run of form dates back to January 2011 ( a full 8 months and some 26 games not 3). We are as poor today as we were under Sbragia and thats saying something. We huff and puff but cant blow anything down, even poor opposition such as the craas, Brighton or indeed a very, very poor Swansea team. How much longer do we wait? Bottom 3 at Christmas and what sort of manager do you think we could attract? Another poor one that what. Change it now and we have a full season to pull it back. Oh, and I think you will find the clamour to replace Bruce gathers pace daily - even in the national press, where Bruce himself mentioned a journalist from a tabloid text Quinny to see how safe his job was after the derby shambles.
Listening to a national radio station last night, it was sad to see Sunderland fans being singled out as being the least patient in the Premiership which has a negative effect on the players. What I found even sadder is that I couldn't disagree with their arguments.
