We’re fecked! I don’t expect him to slag off off individuals but there has to be a realization that for 65 minutes we were 2nd best and bereft of ideas.
Nah, bollocks. That was nowhere near the same. Rashford leapt the challenge and then threw himself to the ground well after it and it was never as malicious as you say. I'm not surprised about Valencia getting away with it, I don't think it was even a defining factor. For me it's the little decisions that went against us consistently today that rub the most. Same for a lot of matches in England. In the CL the refereeing is different gravy. Decisions go against you here and there, that's normal, but the level of refereeing is much better overall. Taylor today was scared of United and it showed. It's embarrassing how inept they are. Anyway, on to the game. Once again in FA Cup Semi, every shot on target against us is a goal. We need to become more clinical too and for me it comes down to lack of quality. Away at Chelsea we did it but it that was 1 against half a dozen of examples where it has gone against us. We simply need more quality.
It surprises me that neutrals think that. As I’ve stated, I don’t think he was biased towards one side, so it’s not a poor performance in that sense. I just thought some of the decisions were just plain wrong, therefore still making it a bad refereeing performance. Since when were shirt pulls not yellow cards? How can a player be booked for diving when they have to jump out of the way of a player who’s almost taken them out? There was so much of this crap that he got wrong. Just don’t see how he had a good game, to be honest.
Short answer: no. Long answer: the past couple of seasons have demonstrated that Poch can deliver with the resources available to him, but that's the issue: the resources available to him. The way things stand in 2017/18 are exactly the same as they were in 2014/15, as our first team are more than capable of delivering but we've always been hamstrung by a lack of depth in key areas of the team (especially striker and central midfield) and that's where the resources available are exposed, because while the Sky 4 + 1 have the resources to have a Giroud or a Martial on the bench (let alone the capability to forget they have Drinkwater or Barkley in the squad) we can't do that, and that's always cost us in the end as injury, suspension or simply a lack of form expose the lack of depth all too often. Yet here's the part that's going to sting the most: the new stadium won't remedy that overnight, after all it was 2-3 years after moving to the Emirates before Arsenal were able to channel the extra funds into their squad - although that's (hopefully...) where the similarities end, considering Arsenal thought moving to the Emirates would consolidate their position while narrowing the financial gap between them and Man Utd/Chelsea, only for City to arrive on the scene to throw those plans out the window, while our plans are less about consolidating our position and more about improving it which (hopefully...) pans out down the line.
What I should have said is it was just a normal bog standard English ref performance. I honestly don't see why people are making a big deal out of it.
No, you’re right. We shouldn’t be these days. It’s week in, week out, no matter what matches you watch.
It wasn’t malicious, but it was definitely tactical, and his left leg could have caught Rashford. He cleverly left it high enough that Rashford had to hurdle it at speed. I just think to get booked for that was harsh.
Comedy Central....... Ref makes two correct decisions in our match at Anfield and Mousers are screaming from the rafters for weeks about incompetent officials and ‘cheating’. Too funny!
Really? You lost because you bottled it. Blame the ref all you want. Just makes you look like a sore loser. Keep ing
If he'd gone over straight away, yeah. But he hurdled it, thought about it and then threw himself to the floor. It's a clear dive imo.
Read my previous comments then...... I’m putting the defeat down to us, not the ref. I we don’t ‘bottles’ it, we bottle it. Please improve your grammar
"Those were the days my friend,I thought today they'd end!" Golly. I think if we entered a Spurs team in a darts match,we'd lose on a double1. I wonder if Spurs will win something before my time is up......and I'm getting close......
We didn't lose because of the ref. The ref was very poor but not worse than usual. But in close matches it would be nice if the ref was as good as the players.
Please don't make fun of people with disabilities. He can't help that he's Scouse. This is your final warning!
You know you're being a dick when you start pulling people up on grammar My phone did that and as you'll see I've edited it. Keep crying.
If we're sore loses for being pissed off at the ref, what does that make your lot who sang "lying bastard" and "you know what you are" at a player who was racially abuse by a Liverpool player? The state of your lot
