Unlucky lads, get the whole lot smashed up this summer and start again. You're too big to be down there for a long time, hopefully your fans will fire up next season and we'll see you back in the big time when you're in better shape.

    Gutted for you boys.

Fair play to ACS he's having a go, this board should be swamped with rival banter. Keep it clean though and don't abuse any animals.

We are where we deserve to be. Exactly like you say clubs of our size have been befire and we are there because it’s our level.

We will be back. We need to get a siege mentality and remember it’s OUR ****ing club. Not Ellis. Not this disgrace of a squad of players.

We need to adjust, accept, rebuild and rise. Every one of us needs to stand behind our club.

How bad is this when the Chief Executive and the manager have no idea what is going on?.....

Firstly I would like to apologise to everyone for coming up short, ultimately not having what was needed. It's a brutal experience and the disappointment is huge. To be fair, maybe blind optimism, five minutes left, I thought we were in the driving seat even though we didn't play well. Five minutes left the atmosphere was great, then it all changed.

"Forty-four games we are into the season and we haven't been good enough. I am sorry for the supporters who have stuck with us every week, followed us, we haven't had enough and we have fallen short. I don't know where this club goes. I don't know what the plan is. We have been looking in terms of recruitment and players.

"We have not been told what's what. When I speak with chief executive Martin Bain he is as much in the dark as me. We know where we are now and we have to say 'that's happened, this is the plan'. Right now it's very raw, it's just happened. It's brutally painful. I have been here two minutes, the supporters have been here for years I can only imagine how they are feeling. I don't know what the plan is."

Given how little you respond to provocation and baiting on this board it's pretty safe to amuse that's a bite.:)

And in fairness to the fans the “bolded” parts are why you have gone down. No leadership from the top.

The real answers to the questions over what the future holds for Sunderland are going to come through the boardroom and finances. Currently the stadium is in danger of becoming a burden if the disconnect between fans and owner continue down the route of dwindling support. The current first team should be good in League One but who will leave this summer? Next season could be a glorious rise or an assett-stripping nightmare; it's likely to be somewhere in the middle where some of the promising players leave this summer and next year is a play-off chase. Still got to be a hell of a lot easier to support than the last few years! Consolidation.

It's bleak reading but what can he say really. Short is expecting to sell and it does sound like there are interested parties but if the debts are as big as some suggest it's a sizeable investment for a club which may be losing money for another year or two at least. If no-one comes in to buy this summer it doesn't feel like Short is going to be there, a cutting of losses and administration seems likely. Whatever happens it's all transient, in time Sunderland will be back in the Championship and pushing for the top flight - just look at Leicester.
