Thing is - Poch consistently, and pretty much without exception makes individual players better. He also makes teams better than the sum of their parts. The whole “he hasn’t won anything” is such a straw man argument. If he were at Real/City/Barca, sure. He’s been at Espanyol, Southampton and Spurs though.
I rate Poch and think he is a very good manager. As you say he makes the team overall better as they buy into his ideas and see the results. Would it work at a Real? No idea as those players are considered elite rather than Poch being able to say “play this way and you will be considered elite”. I’m sure we will find out though as he will likely be off to one of the top teams at some point
Agreed. In all honesty, if it’s not to be us, I’d like Spurs to win it just so people stop with the ‘not won anything’ stuff. They’ll have to go some now though.
This is why I find the game so frustrating. Inconsistent application of the rules by refs, allowing players to remain on the pitch and influence the result.
Should we somehow beat Chelsea I would much prefer to play United simply because we tend to make them work really hard to get anything against us, whereas Spurs, especially at home turn us over quite easily l
On a different note, good to see Pompey settling for a second season in League one. Four points adrift of Scunthorpe with only 2 games to play while Scunthorpe have three, plus Plymouth a point ahead of them with 2 games in hand.
