Surely with the resources Arsenal have, they can mount a title challenge in the next five seasons. How long do people think it will take them to overtake Sours and Chelsea and become daddies of London once again? They are surely just a decent manager away. Could the likes of Allegri sort Arsenal out in a couple of seasons and rebuild in half the money and time than United .... If he was given half the funds United gave their coaches, I reckon St Arsehole’s Day will be a blip rather than a regular occurrence
I don't normally see eye to eye with the creator of this thread, but his OP is bang on the money. Well, partly. I don't seem them topping the DOLL for a while. Probably a decade, I reckon. I could be wrong, of course, and I will own up to it, if I am. But I doubt I will be.
We are absolutely awful yet still well out of your reach, we ended your season That's gotta hurt more than when your fella slid in dry.
It was actually £170m... about £100m less than Chelsea spent in 17/18. To finish 5th with a wig wearing tranny meltdown the highlight of your season
They had CL to contend with this season. They also had to contend with selling Matic and using all of the transfer fee to sign Danny Drinkwater. Still, they have Morata.
I think Arsenal have got the building blocks in place at club level to rebuild quite quickly. We've got Mislintat at head of scouting, Raul Sanllehi the former Football director at Barcelona, Huss Fahmy from Team Sky for contract negotiaions and a new high performance coach Darren Burgess. So that's several areas where we've been weak that have been addressed since the new year. The final piece of the jigsaw is the manager, or more likely a head coach role at Arsenal in the future. There are still a few additions needed to the squad. CB, DM and possibly another winger. I'd expect next season to be very much one of transition and then if we get the right players in, we could think about mounting a serious title challenge the season after.
