IMO todays media are total bullshitters.

They have dared say todays city side is best in prem ever.

IMO arsenal 2002 to 2004 were far better. they were sublime to watch.

no disrespect to anyone including our best showings they were, no side in the "prem" has ever been more easy on the eye.

We have a lot of good things going but we are well short of their level still. Few midfielders now and we could be getting up there.

yes, though i would say for me 1992 is arbitrary and just for them to play the game.

My personal favorite was 5-0 v spurs in 1988 for quality of LFc game.

Salah might even be getting close to john barnes in my memory.

nobody comes close in midfield to molby since <laugh>

gerrard and alonso are two different players to him and each other.

if we had those 3... :)

then someone will say but what about mcmahon souness.. and then suddenly we are back in 1963. Mcmahon was epic too.

think about that line up barnes rushy, houghton, molby, mcmahon, nicol, hanson, whelan too. epic bloody players.

Here's my favourite team - Lawrence, Lawler, Byrne, Yeats, Smith, Stevenson, Strong, Peter Thompson, Callaghan, St John, Hunt. Pick a bad'un out of them, I dare you .....

So the PFA team and player is picked from your peers. Maybe Holgate didnt vote for bobby.

But if you look without bias only two players could possibly win. Silva or Salah, it’s a straight up choice.

I think the club takes a lot of the blame, they could have given him the ££ a decade ago to build on what he had already, after the invincibles their spending on top players was thrift ****, though Wenger gets partial blame for not putting more pressure on them in public\media comments.

Him calling for £££ after the decline of the unbeaten all season team would have been supported by every single Arsenal fan

Either way, they took all that CL every year money, and didn't put it back into the squad and this is the result

I will say Wenger thinking for a lot of years he could build a team out of cheap signings and PO-tential, also had an effect. Arsenal stood still while United Chelsea and then City spent big, now even we are spending 75m on defenders <laugh>

Both the club and Wenger claim the money was there, Arsene just choose not to spend it because he didn't agree with modern day player valuations.

Either way, how many years were they one or two players short? It must have been four years they were crying out for a DM, when they finally got one they just needed a CB for a couple of seasons.

Wouldn't call him great ... no European trophy

Domestic league title(s), domestic cup(s), European cup(s) of either kind (preferably CL) and you're a great manager
