    tarnished? hardly.

Yes he overstayed his welcome but history will look favourably on wenger imo.

I'm certain he'll get a great reception in all the remaining matches

Younger generations will remember him for his last 5-10 years though. Us that remember his teams of the 90s will know what kind of manager he was and what he did for arsenal and the league.

Tarnished doesn't mean ruined, just having the shine taken off it, and I think that's true.

How is the PFA team of year decided? Do the have all PL players vote, then take most voted for player in each position?

    I have no idea??

Was listening to this on five live.

Both Sam Byram and Jena's confirmed you cannot vote for your own team . Only people from other teams

Mourinho says he has no regrets over calling Wenger a specialist in failure

Fancy announcing Wenger is stepping down at this stage, it could really disrupt their season... :bandit:

Who cares really. Probably the same panel that awards phantom goals <laugh> I know that right now I wouldn't swap Firminho for any other #9 in the premier league.

In the rear view mirror of history, Fergie's reputation won't be much tainted by going out of the Europa to Athletic Bilbao, nor will Mourinho's after being sacked for a slump in Chelsea's fortunes.

Any manager at a club for that length of time is going to have a low here and there. It so happens that Wenger's low resulted in them having their stadium paid off, while other clubs were on the up, with greater competition for the top four slots. He's been playing catch-up since, so I don't think the low will seem nearly as bad in retrospect.

As a neutral, I'd rather watch a Wenger failure than a Mourinho success.

When i first got into football i thought Arsenal were named after Arsene Wenger <laugh>

Hopefully they will be renamed Rodgers Utd

Seriously though Wenger was a great manager in spite of his final years. As others have said his team was great to watch, failure or not.
