Agreed but you shouldn’t make it public as you wouldn’t want to be responsible for giving Stan a heart attack.

Very good win and keeps our faint top 4 hopes alive. Morata's finishing is a real worry though.

I dont think he was worth what we paid to be honest.
He is the same age Costa was when he joined us, and look at Costa's first season in comparison, when it comes to composure and decision making.
How many 1 on 1's has Morata ****ed up this season?
I can think of at least 4 off the top of my head.
And I cannot think of a single one he has put away.

And he cost us twice what we paid for Costa. To be honest, I would be looking to ship him back to Spain, maybe see if Atletico will take him in a part Ex deal for Griezemann or something. I know he is Ex-Real, which might be a problem, but we really need a new striker, because Morata really does not cut the mustard for me. At 25 he should be hitting his peak too. 25-28 is generally the peak years for strikers.

It's a tough one. Could be confidence. I think he's a very good player and has shown it in places but really needs to improve his finishing and his strength asap.

The Costa price comparison is a little unfair though. The market has pushed prices up since Costa and Costa had a buy out. Falcao and Cavani had been sold for the 50-60 million mark around the same time so I expect we'd have had to pay similar for Costa save for the buy out.

He scored the 1 v 1 v Leicester the other week but I can think of a lot more he has missed. The Arsenal game when he missed about 3 really stands out. His heading ability has saved him from a shocking season goals wise that's for sure.

Cant see Griezmann happening, all signs are pointing to Barca. Not sure we will ever buy that sort of top end player again given how crazy the market is. So we have to shop in the next bracket. Arsenal paid similar for Lacazette and Aubamayang and I don't think either of those have been particularly great either. So who could we get that would guarantee goals?

It's often the way isn't it, that 2nd season players often step up big time. Hoping this for Morata and Bakayoko.

Encouraging result especially away to Burnley.....by the sounds of it Bakayoko played well ( there’s always a first) maybe he’s turned the corner...perhaps the jury is still out on that one. Playing with two strikers was a good idea it certainly gives us more options and creates more problems for defenders... roll on Sunday!
