Someone needs to get a tune out of the team and not just a chorus of boos.

 

A conductor is required, one who can wave his baton when needed to organise the different sections and bring sweet harmony to the team.

PS: Does the English game produce such players any more. (Wilkins, Alan Ball, Gascoigne, Giles, Charlton, Eastham, Hoddle)?

Can't disagree with this. Let's hope he does go for it. I want all the subs to be attackers even if it's u23's - at least they score. Get ready for a 10-9 .........hopefully to us.

 

The home team looked like they had nothing much to play for for. The visitors looked like they had nothing much to offer. Neither side looked like winning at any point tbh.

Nobody needs resting after that 90 min jog last night. Its who deserves to play that's important for Sunday.

 

I kind of want him to play the u23 squad.

 

Maybe we could persuade Chelsea to do likewise.

 

Another **** performance but a point and I still feel like the games are there for us to escape from this but the agony is being well and truly drawn out - thanks Saints. So close to escaping yet so far for such a long time now. Just a few wins - that's all it would take. It's really pissing me off.

Truth be told we don’t get much at Goodson, but one win stands out in my mind.
April 1974, when we beat them 3-0, playing with the freedom of a team that had just been, mathematically, relegated.
History might repeat.

 

I mentioned it last night, but nobody else has picked up on it.
Am I the only person, who watched that game, who thought Albrighton could/should have been red carded in the second minute?
He clearly and deliberately swung his right arm into Tadic’s face, to stop him from getting past him.
At a minimum it should have been a yellow, which should then have become two yellows when he later dragged Bertrand back, with both hands, to stop him from breaking, another offence that wasn’t carded.
The commentary team seemed to think it was a deliberate swing of the arm but, owing to it having happened to a Saints player and not a top six team player, they didn’t mention it again. Had it been Hojbjerg on Hazard, for example, they would have revisited the offence time and again.
Not making excuses for a below standard performance, but have we been denied the opportunity to throw more players forward as the direct result of a refereeing decision?

 

There is no denying that we have been on the wrong end of some truly **** officiating this season - I hope Alonso enjoys his 3 game ban btw.
