    On the game, and despite the defeats I've been fairly impressed by Hughes so far but I think he was too negative tonight at a time where it sounded like were playing well.

    Austin coming on for Long meant we had no pace and just got penned in. I'd have liked to see him with Long, but if not then you've gotta bring one of Redmond and Sims on at the same time imo.

    Clean sheet after recent games is a huge positive and it could end up being an important point but draws, as we've been saying for months, aren't really good enough and it feels like a bit of a missed opportunity.

    When we went down before, we at least went down battling.
    This time feels different. I can’t watch us without feeling sad and asking myself why I keep bothering. A genuinely pathetic display, in a season of pathetic displays.

    So agree with this. We did have an opportunity to not just over achieve but become a proper “top” side that could stay there. ****ed up, well & proper. I disagree with the sooth sayers on here who say it was inevitable we would eventually fall.

    Do you think it is lack of urgency, or fear? They’ve looked fearful for a long time and they seem to be non-performing as if they can’t handle the stress.



    *waits for someone to ask how someone earning 50k a week can be under stress.

    Back in Feb I posted that I did a predictor League forecast and I had Saints finishing on 34 points, staying up. Huddersfield’s last minute winner against Watford spoiled that prediction.... :(
