Yeah that's a common spot for disasters. Beautiful place, but so dangerous. Someone I used to know very well jumped off the top and nearly ****ing killed himself. My mate called George, moved to Germany now. Its crazy isn't it ? Some poor sould died off Prtland Bill last year , Think he got swept off the rocks but not sure . We go there once in a while esp if we know it will be windy , just to experience it , but some people get sooo bloody close They don't seem to think of the possible consequences , their loved ones , the rescuers !!!!
I think he jumped mate. I think I know him too. I know's there's usually at least 1 fatality a year there, that's very minimum. I know some guy that drove his car off the cliff at Portland Bill, extremely successful chef, opened restaurants with Gordan Ramsey etc. - unbelievably he survived. It was a miracle. He was gutted.
It's a bit like Chesil beach , if you don't know the place , Roll up your trousers , or in your shorts , go wandering out . Fine for the first 3 - 6 feet , then you are gone . It just drops off .
If there is anything worse than really attempting Suicide , surely it must be surviving it ? You seem to know quite a few .....can I put that coffee on hold ? .....
This guy drunk a bottle of Whiskey took a run up from the roundabout and went full throttle over the cliff - ****ing survived it!! I spoke to him from DCH and he was absolutely gutted. Poor bloke lost everything due to the bottle and just wanted to end it.
