I think we will go back to Bolton with an improved offer and will probably manage to agree a deal before the end of the trasnfer window for Gary Cahill, as Bolton need to the money to help with their massive debts. Just linked with Park Chu Young, the south korean striker and national team captain on l'equipe. would be a very good back-up to van Persie. http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/breves2011/20110827_121128_park-file-a-l-anglaise.html And how about that CM position. I don't think we need M'vila, as he is a DM and we have 2 good ones. I say we go for Owen Hargreaves, who is more creative, has PL experience and is injury prone so would fit in with our current squad. plus he could add a lot to the team from his experience of watching his previous clubs while on the sidelines injured. and he thinks he will "blow clubs away" now that he's back... only competition for him so far is West Brom. i think he'll pick us... http://www.skysports.com/story/0,,11667_7127803,00.html
would be a wenger-type signing. sol Campbell, silvestre, etc. all past players coming to arsenal with experience and on the cheap or free.
i think i'm right about park chu young. BBC are now reporting that he's going for a medical, and they only normally do that if they have hard evidence. news.bbc.co.uk/sport (live ticker at the top)
Saturday 27th. Lille were left baffled on Saturday at the disappearance of Park Chu-Young, Monaco's South Korean striker who failed to show up for a medical having agreed terms to join the French champions. Lille president Michel Seydoux said: "We haven't had a telephone call, nothing." Seydoux fears that Park may have jilted Lille in favour of a move to the English Premier League. "From what we understand he could be at Arsenal," the Lille boss said. Park had been due at the northern French side to continue with the traditional pre-signing medical which he had begun on Friday. "Like Monaco, Lille are baffled," added Seydoux, adding: "Everything (about his move) had been agreed. "This type of behaviour is not acceptable, in any event it doesn't correspond with the spirit here at Lille."
hargreaves and pl experience should not be used in the same sentence, in the last 3 years at OT he made about 6 starts
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14692916.stm This one came from left field, anyone know anything bout this guy?
He's a godsend on football manager. Signed him for arsenal in the first season, scored 32 goals in the league. Don't know if that means anything, but hopefully it does!
I can believe the Park Chu Young story, never expected a marquee signing, cheap and cheerful....I guess this will placate the fans.... If reports that he almost signed for Lille are true, then we can expect to pay around 10mill Euros! So that is one down 2 to go. We'll see if Cahill plays for Bolton today, if he does not we can assume talks are at an advanced stage....so that will be 1 more to go, I can't see us buying any Grade A player for the midfield role. 65-70 mill in the bank, net profit of around 25mill, luvely jubbly!
I suppose this would put the Hazard rumours to bed too, us upsetting Lille won't help in our attempts to sign Hazard. Oh well... but you never know
23 goals in 69 appearances for FC Seoul and 25 in 91 for Monaco. That's pretty impressive. Look gr8 if we get him. Have to say though that were he to be coming over with a second medical due at Lille, it might have been nice for him just to have given Lille a call to say thank you but no. You never know who you'll meet or need in the future after all.
Seeing as Song and potentially Frimpong will go to the ACN in January, we really need another DM and M'Vila looks perfect..
Will they both go? I though we were only looking as losing Gervinho and Chamakh - Hence Wenger's signing another striker http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/wenger-we-re-looking-for-one-more-strikerand-8232- Frimpong is yet to decide whether he'll play for England or Ghana
