The widespread rise of television in the 50s and increase in movie output in the 80s has seen an exponential rise in the number of famous people. So it should come as no surprise that they're dying off in greater numbers. I've always found RIP threads curious things. Death is the great equaliser, yet there'd be no thread for my plumber if he died. Nobody would pay tribute to his in-depth knowledge of LPG boilers, even though getting it working was far more important to me than Bowie's final album. Still, one cannot cry for everybody in the world, so you choose your loves and tip your hat for the rest. Farewell Dale, gone to the great supermarket in the sky. Or possibly heaven's tanning salon.
Apparently Dale Winton suffered from depression, as did his mother who killed herself when he was 21. Police are treating his death as unexplained.
It’s because people feel like they know famous people. Some may have even had an effect on their own lives through meetings or inspiration etc. Nobody knows your plumber but I’d imagine you’d pay tribute to him if he died because you know of him.
I don't think I've ever hired a plumber. I've had AC repairmen come by, but I wouldn't remember them after a week. Maybe if they died fixing my AC I'd mourn them. Especially if they hadn't fixed it yet.
Look, aren't you even impressed that I know he's a plumber? I can't be expected to know he's ****in' immortal as well.
