Match Day Thread West Brom v Liverpool

If we beat Chelsea they cannot mathematically catch us even if we lose every other match and they win all their others.

 

Todays game is a big one for us.

If cheslea somehow managed to not win that one.. and its not the easiest of fixtures... then in effect we would be 9 points clear with 4 to play. Win at the weekend and its 9 points clear worst case with +15 or more goal difference.

= over.

So lets see thier result today and see what we can then do in this game.. a big old victory this weekend can put mo in the box seat for 35 goals this season and put us into 4th 100% with 3rd being well on as well.

 

If Chelsea don’t win today we only need to win another match OR draw against them.GD is far superior.

 

Jimmy always a good news when you are scared.

 

Revenge for knocking us out of the FA Cup would be nice.

hopefully this lot won't do damage to our players this weekend.

if they need to win or be relegated it suits us bit it's an emotional day for them and while I might sort of feel sorry for them they also give it large and are quite nasty towards us as fans.

players like.mcclean are not noted for their good sense so breaking a leg at 2-0 down isn't out of the question with them losing it.

 

Think it's to our advantage that there is no point in West Brom playing for a draw but please god no injuries as we are so stretched already.

 

Burnley have done well but I expect Chelsea to win tonight.

 

In as much as I want Salah to beat Harry Kane to the golden boot, I do not want him to get injured between now and the end of the season.
This a cross road, should we play him against West Brom or not?

 

yep play him get top 4 asap.
personally couldn't care less if he gets golden boot or not in fact i'd rather he hadn't got dragged into the media frenzy which is mainly because the league was wrapped up months ago.

A Burnley win will put them above Arsenal which would be brilliant. Arsenal run the risk of concentrating on the Europa while forgetting about the league. We have experience in that and it went south.

 

Only thing is Chelsea atm aren’t any better than those ones you’ve listed so

I would be relaxed. Only a catastrophic meltdown on our part plus a miraculous turnaround by Chelsea would put our CL place at risk. I honestly don’t even think that they will get another 10 points from their remaining 5 matches.

 

i'd rather have it confirmed so no conflicting pulls re team selection though it is difficult to see Chelsea catching us now.

 

last 3 games i've seen all have had massive massive favoritism of the bigger side by the refs and its relegated Southampton imo.

If we don't get well looked after this weekend i shall be writing to the times.
