Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light. I thought he was excellent today, didnt give Kebe anything. When Kebe swapped wings at the end he caused problems, dive though it was. Well done Daws, Dudgeon's warming the bench now.
He had a very good game today, his best for a while and came into the role as captain. I expect him to start at Peterborough.
most knowledgable fans agree with you. Who the hell picks the sponsored MoM now anyway. Is it still the radio listening idiots?
Chester did a 10 out of 10 tackle on that big striker for Reading right in front of us (North/West corner)....slid in got the ball, pushed the striker over and simply stood up and distributed the ball....class.
Disagree with that. Hobbs was definitely the better of the two CB's today. Chester kept getting beaten in the air by Hunt in the second half. I dunno why they took Hunt off, then i saw what looked like the incredible hulk in his place. Christ he was a big lad. Think Hobbs got into him once though. Anyways Daws have a beer tonight mate you deserve it.
MotM goes to the goal scorer, despite everything else that happens on the pitch. Goal apart, I thought Brady, Chester and Cairney could all be in the running today.
Ye ive not mentioned TC yet. A couple of his bits of skill were superb today. Keep going son. Disagree with Chester thought Hobbs was the better of the two today. One quibble i did have with NP, Griffin the RB was booked first half yet we never swapped Koren and Brady over. Surely Brady running at him would have produced another yellow and a sending off.
Chester for me as well. As has already been mentioned, he made a couple of critical challenges today that were timed to absolute perfection. He also reads the game exceptionally well - anticipating through balls before the attackers do which helps him to get to the ball first. Has looked a much more effective centre back than Hobbs this season in my eyes.
Chester was immense today cool as at the back. I was happy for Daws he had a great and it meant a lot if you saw him at the final whistle hes had a lot of knockers on here and im glad today he proved a lot of people wrong
^^^ THIS ^^^^ In this situation the goal scorer HAS to get MOTM unless he's had an otherwise mare. If it had stayed 0-0 I would have given it to Chester for yet another assured, thoughtful, composed performance.
I agree with the OP Dawson was MOM for me, marshalled The slippery Kebe excellently, struck the right balance between defence and attack. Dawson also seemed to bring a calmness to proceedings. In fairness though I thought the whole team played well, hard to single out any individual for MOM. Despite all the pressure though, umpteen corners, still only one goal scored. Reading never had a sniff, though whilst there is only a goal in it the last 10 minutes are always painful!
Anybody sit in the West and hear NP's comments to Dawson in the first half? We won a throw-in, but Dawson didn't seem to know it was ours, NP told him it was our throw and to get a move on. Dawson miserably walked towards the ball, and Pearson shouted to him "Give us a smile", to which Dawson shared a laugh with all those within earshot.
Agreed, that tackle was ****ing amazing. He's the best tackler I've seen at City in years. Chester motm, Koren 2nd (who was possessing him today?!) and Brady 3rd for his screamer. Edit: Oh and Jimmy Kebe is still the worst diver I've seen in football ever, and yet he always wins free kicks doing it
