I don't condone what he's done. I just don't see that taking all of his presumed wealth is any sort of appropriate punishment. That's why I responded to your post as I did.
I do suppose on reflection that I commented in haste but I get a bit riled when people who are fortunate in their lives and should be role models act in such a way.

I lost my best mate in a drink driving accident in 2010. The bloke responsible was so distraught he has tried to kill himself on five occasions and is now in a secure unit being monitored (or he was the last time I heard). Genuine people who are remorseful and feel emotion don't deserve any more punishment than is given, going out of the way to be extra cruel is just vindictive and helps nobody. No, it wouldn't have made me feel better that the fella killed himself or had his assets stripped. It wouldn't have brought Tom back either.
