We have made an awful start to the season. Many would say 2 points from the first 3 games is no disaster, but we have played 2 mathches at home - one against relegation rivals and both of which we should have won. And we went out to League Two Shrewsbury in the CC. The worrying thing is we can not score. There is no point how good your defence is if you can not put a goal in the back of the opposition's net you will only get a maximum of 1 point. We have played four matches and not one Swansea player has scored a goal. Danny Graham is looking like a very disappointing signing IMO. He had some sitters and couldn't put them to bed. And you have to take your chances if you expect to do anything in this league. The only positive so far is the performances of Vorm who looks like a great signing, but as I said you can have the best keeper in the world but it will mean nothing if your strikers can not score. Rodgers needs to find a striker who has the experience and ability to score in the PL, because on the results of our first three games - we are going to be relegated unless something changes and fast We have Arsenal and Chelsea in our next two away games and I can't for the life of me see us getting anything from those games. So we must beat WBA.
Wal where you got the notion that we are to be relegated after just 3 games do you not think that it is going to take time to get used to the difference in the prem, we have got better after every game and today i thought we were the better team against a very good sunderland team who have brought in a lot of proven premiership players. yes they had some chances but so did we albeit we didnt finish any but we are a work in progress and are going on nicely in my eyes. and we are up to 15th whoopee seriously tho we are going to be fine another draw against arsenal and we'll score in this game also. if someone said to me at the start of the season that we would be 15th going into september we would all of ripped their arm off in buck we trust STID
I would say, get a life and start supporting the team. We new the mountain we had to climb and just try and enjoy our time here. Results are built from the back - 2 clean sheets. Who knows, with a bit of support we might achieve the unthinkable. However, I will not say that and merely note the freudian slips you have used in your post which makes you an obvious Cardiif fan/wum. So kindly ....... **** off. You have been weighed, measured and found wanting. PS what is your other alias on the Cardiff forum as you might as well come out of the closet.
what a pathetic thread, if you want an experienced premier league striker, they cost from about £10m and in sunderlands case they don't score! We were unlucky today not to win, we are progressing and we have another point on the scoreboards ! These team's we are playing have spent tens of millions on players , and we cannot match that!
Don't be fooled by this numpty. All his posts are negative. He says he supports the Swans, but when he actually refers to the team he uses phrases like you and your as highlighted in bold. If you are a fan WAL1000, I have a 2 foot todger. This WAL1000 guy is a>>>>>>>
Seem to remember this unfunny joker from 606. No real Swans fan would post this. Dainumpty might, but not until next month at the earliest. Piss poor wum. Ignore.
It's true to say, that we need our front line to click, but it will need some more games yet, though I do concede that we must take our chances clinically when they come, but as for relegation fodder, well it's far too soon to be calling that one Wall.e !............. please log in to view this image
Fact is that Graham was not a 'proven' Premiership striker. We know that he's got the potential to be, you don't score as many goals as he did at Championship level and then not score ANY at Premiership level. It will take patience and time with him, he's going to be just as nervous as any of our other players about going up against the best defences in the world. But if you're reading this Danny - you are good enough to score goals against anyone in this division! The only player that has really taken like a Swan to water is Vorm - but the guy is used to training with, what is now officially, the best international team on the planet. You'd expect he'd be ok when he plays training games with Robben, Sneijder, Van Persie, Van Bommell, Kuyt, Van der Vaart and co! Give the team 10 games - if we are still floundering after that, then we'll just have to force our way through to Christmas and see what can be done in the January window... and for goodness sake, please enjoy the ride! We didn't come from 22nd in League 2 to the Premier League in 8 years to piss and moan for the season! If there's one thing I'm going to do, it's savour every single Premiership game that the Swans play, because 5 years ago I genuinely never thought the Swans would reach the top division again in my lifetime (and I'm 23)! An opinion which I still hold about Wales reaching a major football championships!
LOL you could well be right on the Wales bit though, bigkidderz!!..................... please log in to view this image
Lets be real here, we should have won and dominated a match against an established Premier League club. All it takes is that one little bit of luck and things will click into place. I was pleased Buck kept Graham on and showed faith in him, he is going to score the goals we need as is Sinclair. It was Sunderland we were playing today not Scunthorpe they are a big club and are no mugs, I wonder how relieved they were to get out of town with a point ? So stop worrying and keep the faith.
Think it says it all that Wally hasn't replied or defended his pathetic post - I thoroughly enjoyed todays game where at times we totally dominated a very good Premier League side. The goals will come and I have total faith in Graham, he looks very hungry and isn't afraid to put a shift in helping out the defence either - he will score goals! The most promising thing about the three games so (am ignoring Shrewsbury - never liked the Carling Cup ) is that we have improved in each one - excellent performance today, we just lacked that bit of luck in attack (Sinclairs strike would have been a goal of the month contender if it had just dipped below the cross bar).
Cracking game today, Graham worked his socks off and was unlucky with his turn and strike which went just wide ,I agree we are improving & getting used to to the pace of the game but were caught a couple of times dwelling on the ball where (no disrepect to Sunderland) we'll get punished up against more accomplished sides.Nice to see we could dish it out as well today and not be bullied.O'shea kept rabbiting on in Halsey's ear throughout the game and one or two strange decsions went against us but like I said we are improving IMO
We drew with Sunderland. Liverpool drew with Sunderland. Therefore we are as good as Liverpool. So we'll be challenging for a place in Europe. Can't argue with that logic.
I don't often go on to other boards, but I was amazed to read this. OK, you did pay over the odds for Danny Graham, but he will not draw a complete blank this season in the Premiership. You have some 'easier' home fixtures yet to come after the International break. Sinclair, who looked like a world beater last year, will (like Routledge) look ordinary this season - but I still think you have enough in the locker room to stay up (though like Blackpool, it will be close). I'd be surprised if you got relegated, as you will surely finish above Norwich and Blackburn. It's that final place that's up for grabs: Wigan? QPR? WBA? Fulham even? There's always one who nobody expects to go down!
