So, Celtic failed in Europe cause a lot of Celtic fans don't rate Samaras... Clown! You are a timposter...you're Samaras!
Well Stereo and Pud. I know from past posting that Stereo will always take opposite view to me so nothing changes. People sometimes read internet posts, believe it or not. Internet posts often go over the top abusing, showing hatred ridiculing individual players. We even had a poster on here who showed his hatred for Sameras by his crudely written signature. Although unfortunately Celtic fans have for years adopted, what was basically Rangers fans habits of booing and abusing their own players. As I say some of our so called fans have been doing it for a number of years but recently in the last five or six or so seasons it has certainly been getting a lot worse every season. I wonder, and I certainly cannot say for sure, but I wonder is the extreme abuse some of our players receive in part due to what some fans read on the forums. Did big Dan's mistake on Thursday come about by Sunday's abuse been in his head. Obviously we don't know and will never know. Someone said if they can't take the abuse they shouldn't be playing.. But why should they. I think we should criticize our players if we feel they deserve it. However I don't think there is any excuse for been abusive. I just cannot understand the mentality of spending big money on season books/match tickets and abusing our players. It cannot help our team and surely that is why we are fans/supporters.
And there you go...many Celtic fans think Samaras deserve it. Many can forgive lack of skill if passion and a willingness to work hard is shown but what they can't forgive is someone with skill not showing passion or a hard work ethic. In my opinion, Samaras has skill but doesn't work hard enough. Ok, Dan tries hard but his lack of skill gets in the way at times. For a defender, mistakes usually get punished (Strikers and Midfielders usually get away with mistakes). I'm going to leave this alone Hoops...opinions are like arseholes, everybody has one. You think critiscm gets to players and Celtic fans shouldn't voice this critiscm (by moaning or booing or even writing it on a forum). I think hard working people who spend there cash going to football games/buying the teams products/supporting that club etc have every right in voicing their opinion on poor performances and lack of effort (especially when you consider the average weekly wage bill at Celtic far outways the annual salary of most Celtic fans)! We'll agree to differ...
