    With an average age of 27.6 we have a good 5 years of this team or at least the core elements of it. Bad news for everyone else mind, awful awful news.

    the nex decade (well, next few years, after a few more seasons dominating the emirates cup) of football:

    fabregas, age...well, you'll not mid since he'll be playing for barcelona
    nasri, age...you'll have to ask the real madrid website
    van persie, age...guess slivio might tell you at his new club in milan
    arshavin, age... well, they say everything is ageless in moscow

    <ok>

    I am sure if you picked the oldest eleven out of every premiership club you would have similar results. Likewise if you picked everyones youngest eleven you would all have young squads. We have the best mixture of young and old in the country and this is why we are so successful.

    Are you trying to be funny?
    I'm obviously aware that only 11 players can play, but taking our LAST team selction is one of the most stupid things you could do to back up your point.
    Why not take a selection where we had Kucshak, Rafael, Evans, Anderson, Valencia and Hernandez on the pitch and measure our average age.
    I mention our bench because it would have had an average age of around 23(??) Through in Cleverly and Welbeck into the mix and these players are our future.
    Take Giggs and Van Der Sar out of the team that you mentioned and put in Kucshak and Valencia, the age would suddenly drop to around the 27 mark.
    Scholes, Giggs and Neville may retire, but will be given coaching roles, so will continue to educate our youngsters.
    I'm sure we will be fine <ok>

    Haha, good luck next year, you'll need it ;).

    I have to agree with four2three1, you can't use the starting 11 from one single game to judge a players squad. We have a pretty good blend of experience and youth, normally Anderson would start instead of Fletcher and Rafael instead of O'Shea. We still have an older squad than Arsenals but that's not what football is about, it's about being the best football team and as much as I admire Arsenal for thier approach I'm happier that we do things our way.
