Academics would point to the “final solution” manifesting itself only once it was clear the war would be lost and the Jews were to be eliminated by an industrial scale so that in nazi eyes they could never assume positions of wealth or power after the lost war. If my memory serves me correctly a similar situation occurred a few years ago and the great ditherer Cameron Put the proposition to a free vote. After lots of hot air it was decided in the wake of the Saddam affair to do nothing. If we had have taken action then and before Russia got involved I would suggest that a lot of innocent lives would have been saved.
