Might have played better first half but again defensive mistakes have cost us. Oh well I expected mid table looks like that is what we are going to get. You DONT lose 3 of your first 5 and expect anything out of the season....

Right now, I would take mid table if offered it. I'm genuinely worried if there is no improvement in defense, things could be worse than that. asa good as last week was we were lucky to have only conceded two.
playing with 10 men is tough, yes, but I can't help but fear that O'brien was the one at fault for both goals - he came on for McCormack after White got sent off. He's shown himself to be a liability since that initial good spell he had when we first got him on loan. I'm going to stick with the fact we have too many players that are liabilities due to poor activity in the transfer market, due to no ****ing money.
Im sorry but as a manager you cant keep coming up with excuses. Our defence is ****. Aidy white is an idiot for getting sent off. Through on goal, who cares. At 11 men we were better than that ****! 6th from bottom lads! Pure ****

My predictable verdict: I'd like to stress that I didn't go to the game so I can't make judgements on individual players. But from the way the result swayed, one thing I've been harping on about for ages has yet again been proven correct. What we need is a captain. A leader. A proper vocal, hard bastard in midfield who won't take no for an answer when we're 1-0 up with 10 men and Ipswich are knocking on the door. We need a similar figure in defence as well, whether you think Kisnorbo fits that bill or not. You can't just get by with one player like that in your entire team. Football is so mentally-driven that you can't just rely on easy-on-the-eye technical players and defenders with a good reputation for man-marking (O'Brien) and tackling (O'Dea). You need consistency, drive, passion and desire as well. Does that come cheap? Does it ****. Bates out.

That's 6 points we've chucked now, when being the better side by losing men. howson was unlucky against boro but gradel was stupid. Don't know whether white needed to make the challenge today... but giving the goal away would have given us a better chance than playing with 10 men. Annoying but Ipswich will be one of the better teams in this division when they settle. Lets face it we tried to sign half their summer signings. They have 2 bad results and everyone thinks we should get a bagful... i'd have taken a point today and we were good enough and should have taken all 3. As it is we play half the game with 10 men and lose to a last minute deflection. Frustrating as hell but some perspective lads eh?
