So you are buying inferior players to City then in Salah, Mane, Firminho etc?

They arrived with a reputation for being inferior because they signed for us and not Utd or the oil clubs, but since they are now part of the same team and proving formidable their market value shows it was shrewedness by the club buying quality players and doubling their market value.
Although you'll disagree as an attacking three they'd walk into any team and enhance any of the club's above and when you consider how much they cost by comparison to other front lines at those clubs they're far from inferior, our defence and keepers have been the problem, we've only lost 4 league games all season but the many draws reflect the capitulation we've had in games we've been in front, must have been but wrenching for our front three to work their collective plums off and get us 2 or 3 goals ahead only to see our defence fall to pieces at the end.
But things have improved greatly since VvD arrived, we've conceded less goals in the league than the rest since his arrival, so we're on the right track.:emoticon-0105-wink:

And that's where this slightly drunken ****er says goodnight.:emoticon-0100-smile

'The rest'? You mean you'll be fighting for tenth place whatever? Or are you still trying to bask in your other club's vicarious achievements?

I’m pretty certain you hadn’t heard of Firmino before he joined LFC and I’m sure you would have said Salah is a Chelsea reject as well.

Bit late on this but my view on the money thing is not so much the first 11 but what the extra resources do is enable the club to have backup players pretty close to the same standard as the first choice. It also enables them to decide "oops thats a mistake" and promptly buy another GK , CB etc

Just seen edersons challenge on sterling, number one never a pen, number two that was a leg breaker, studs up, shin height, and absolutely no ability to stop so totally out of control. How on earth was a red not given????

This is from the bloke doing his nut earlier in the week fora similar challenge
Had that been on a city player can you imagine peps response
    Holy crap!

not sure what you've seen but it's bloody confusing.<laugh>
Take it you are referring to (Spurs) Lloris on (Man City) Sterling.

not sure it was a nailed on red more could have been given but normally yellow imo. Interesting thing was the Spurs players didn't really contest the penalty award and Sterling was unconcerned about the tackle unlike Kompany who was rightly outraged about Davies assault on him.

lol i don't tend to disagree with you but that lloris challenge was a red all day long from an outfield player. Normally keepers get away with a bit more but that was still a red for a keeper

I tend to judge these or try to by imagining what I would have wanted had it been utd on us. That was a red imho, so totally agree, the only thing i could think of was that triple threat punishment that has come in but that really should not have applied there.
Even though it was wrong decision are they now saying that if a pen is given the keeper doesnt walk ?
    Seems very odd

not quite. If it is deemed that the GK deliberately fouled the attacker it's still a red but if he just fouled when trying to play ball then just a yellow.

Wow so ref just didnt think it was a red then. Fair enough - each to their own tbh dislike spurs so not fussed and wanted them to lose but in the interest of impartiality have to put on record that i think it was nailed on and the ref was #bentasfuck lmao

I don’t think the ref could see properly. You look where he is and he’s 20 yards back and directly behind it so prob couldn’t see the height of the tackle.

If hed been side on, may have been a diff story.

The Lloris "tackle" was nowt (notice Sterling just appealed for Pen not about the tackle itself) compared to Davies which was a nailed on Red and may still be one when the FA look at it .

I said on our board , it would be typical if he got a retrospective ban . That would mean he won't be playing when we want him to .
