I believe that, mathematically, Newcastle need four points to ensure staying up. This could be the first of them. So I am going to go for 1-1.
Araenal are well and truly focused on the Europa league now and the games against A. Madrid. I expect we will see a rotated side with our key players rested. Mkhi is already injured and we won't want to risk losing any more before the semi final. It's a great chance for you lot to try and grab a point or even all 3 if you really go for it. I don't think any Arsenal fans are particularly bothered about results in the league anymore as we aren't going to get Top 4. Aubameyang has started his time with us really well and he can't play in the Europa so he will start and I expect he will score if his record so far is anything to go by. I predict 1-1 if we go for a fully rotated team or a 2-1 win if a few more first teamers stay in the team (unlikely).
Yahhhhhhhhhhhhh! Can’t wait, l hope we really get at them, they don’t like it up em. I wonder if we will see Slimani get a start, he should cause them problems at the back. Just realised this post is very arse orientated (not purposely by the way) Anyhow just hoping for a real fighting display in front of the Geordie faithful today. HTL X
If we do manage a win today then we will take back 8th place in the all time Premier League table. We lost it to Man City a while back, but can overtake Aston Villa with two more points, having currently played 48 games less.
Cheers for the input fella, Aub is the biggest threat to what is a pretty resolute defence of ours. Expect to see our back-line sitting deep to try and counter-act him alone. Feel like we can nick something here, in fairness Ozil's thunderbastard was the difference last time round and the team has grown considerably since then. Most importantly our CMs are in the form of their careers and if they can get the ball upfield the way they have been doing I see a bit of joy on our end. Of course it's Arsenal though, so everything in your head overwrites the hearts desire for a win. What's your views on Wenger by the way? Can Europa be his salvation for another season?
IF and it's a big IF we manage to win the Europa this season then we will have won the community shield, Europa league and been runners-up in the league cup final, being back in the CL for next season. Which for me would mean Wenger had earned the right to see out his contract next season.
We should beat them, Arsenal have been awful in the last few games I've watched, and they are rotating for their one shot at glory in the Europa. Let's hope they start Wilshere and Elneny, and it could be a riot. The key is keeping Aubameyang quiet, and Yedlin defending well at the far post against Welbeck. I predict 3-0 Toon
With the title and Champions League spots looking sorted now then you have probably got more to play for than most at the top this year. I get what you are saying about concentrating on the Europa League, but with Burnley so close behind in the league it could also turn out to be a year of nothing IF Southampton somehow won the FA Cup - and stranger things have happened (though its hard to see them doing that). You could be in the Champions League next year or you could not be in Europe at all. I don't expect Arsene will be ignoring league wins just yet. For us, we still have an outside chance of catching Everton, and even possibly Leicester. It's very unlikely, but with so much potential transfer money at stake for each place I hope we at least go for it. In practice though, with three of our remaining games being against you lot, Spurs and Chelsea, we should be very happy with holding onto tenth place.
They've played absolutely awful, whatever their record. Their fans are uptight, ungrateful mouth breathers, on their manager's back at every opportunity. Every club has them, but for Arsenal fans that is 98% of the fan base. We'd be 5th in the table if the league started in January... outside the current top 4, which Arsenal aren't in.
