I think a lot of fans find him boring. But then just ask them if they’d want Ian Holloway back as manager and they’ll shut up!
It’s mainly the style of play. I’m all in favour of possession but want that to be quicker moving the ball. I’ve never seen the point of possession for possessions sake as there’s not a trophy for that (despite what the media think). A lot of our issues could be solved with an attacking rb (Cedric?) and a comfortable ball playing cb to play with Maguire

It’s not hard for a manager to turn our players against you as we know!
No offence over the also ran, all the title win did long term was make us think we should be challenging top half or best of the rest not playing for 17th. As I said somewhere above, we know we won’t be challenging the top 4/5

Cedric is terrible at attacking, genuinely one of the worst crossers I've ever seen, and that includes people I've played with at no level at all.

Although he might be alright if he doesn't have to cross in the air and can play a ball through to Vardy, I'm sceptical though.

Here's my more balanced (ie sober) view of the next few games.

Hughes has had 3 games (PL) in charge.

The first was West Ham - that was his learning curve of how the players react in a game situation.

The second was Arsenal away. We saw a reaction and we scored 2 goals away from home from our strikers. We conceded 3 though. Any season you would not expect to win this and quality showed through.

The third was as home to the champions Chelsea. They may be out of form, but they are still streaks ahead of us in quality. We played well, we fought, Hughes' tactics seemed to be taking effect. We were outdone by 8 minutes of class and our fragile confidence. You would not expect to win this game on paper.

To me, each game has seen an improvement in attitude and fight.

Up next are 3 teams that I hope aren't as talented as Arsenal and Chelsea (and no disrespect meant to these teams, as they are ahead of us and played better this season than us). We can get something out of all three if we continue the way we are. If we can get our noses in front, maybe we can grind out a win. Who knows.

I am 80% convinced we are down, but we could still do this, but it is unlikely.

With Oriol suspended for two games, it would be nice to have Mario back in the fold. But, I have a feeling that Mark has had a proper confrontation with him, probably in front of everyone else. Something along the lines of commitment & attitude. Such a shame how his time here has panned out.

May as well throw money down the drain, instead of betting on a Saints win.
I actually bet on Chelsea yesterday at 2-0 up, so I made a nice bit of cash to soften the blow. As much as it pained me to bet against saints :emoticon-0107-sweat

Fair enough, he’s looked ok when I’ve seen him. Think we are linked with another Portuguese RB.
Hope you guys stay up anyway. Hopefully we’ll just get a decent game on Thursday as it’s been a while for us. I’d take a draw right now

Just further supports the theory that this all could have been avoided, if only we'd take action earlier.

It was obvious from November, it really, really was.

Neither is fury towards the players. Long as you aren't shouting **** at them or booing I see no problem with ranting on here etc.

Problem is when teams are in the **** fans turn on each other which doesn't help. You have fans who think they are better for still thinking a club will stay up, you have fans thinking they are better for turning up each week. Moaning at each other doesn't help, it just makes a **** situation even more toxic.

Being at the game as soon as Chelsea scored the 3rd it broke us. The crowd didn't even boo, they just sat there in silence or completely switched off. The players the same, we had players walking around with hands on their hips. Like I said a few weeks back our confidence is ****ed, score one goal against us and you will get a few more. Hughes has got us fighting a lil more but he can't change how we just crumble.

McCarthy, Cedric, Yoshida, Hoedt, Bertrand, Davis, Hojbjerg, Ward-Prowse, Boufal, Sims, Austin.

That would be my XI, and I'd hope for something similar. Feel like we really need Davis on the pitch as we have really lacked his leadership imo.

I will say Bertrand laughing and joking with Chelsea players on the pitch at full time wasn't a good look. I get he has friends there, but you just lost 3-2 and played like ****. Save that **** til you are in the tunnel

Please avoid references to that scoreline at this stage playing a team in blue...

This weekend 13 years ago was the 3-2 defeat to Villa, from 2-0 up.

We've still got the local "derby" to come. And then the relegation six-pointer. And then the final day home game against the Champions from Manchester.

Bertrand had a good game I thought, created our first and defended well, apart from that 8 minutes when everyone played like ****.

There is so many parallels to 2005 and yesterday definitely feels like our 'Villa' moment.

United weren't champions that year though, Liverpool did win the cl mind...
